The pickup and reservation were easy. The issue was the car they rented me had a serious oil leak that stained a brand new driveway and was missing parts on the top of the engine. I was 400 miles from home when the low oil light kicked on and I had to add a quart of oil so I could get home. The person at the counter didn't make any effort to show that they cared about the issue or make any effort to reimburse me the cost of the oil. It was only $6, my issue is with the fact that they didn't offer or seem to care that I kept the car from blowing a rod or that their car stained a brand new driveway.

Rented a vehicle here at Hertz (Overland West Inc) due to some problems with availability at the Enterprise that we normally use. Reserving and picking up the rental was easy.I wanted to add my wife as an additional driver and was told to email her information to the office when I had it. I did, and asked for a reply for confirmation. That never happened.I purchased the damage waiver before I picked up the vehicle. I had some mild damage due to road debris occur to the rental. Upon return, I attempted to provide the employee at the Hertz desk photos of the damage, a statement, and to walk her out to the vehicle. She told me I was fine since I had the damage waiver, and that she would check it later. She had me describe what happened, and told me that she didn't need anything else from me afterwards. She seemed very dismissive. No one else was at the counter or in line.Since then, I have been contacted by a claims specialist twice and was informed that Hertz (Overland West Inc) is claiming that we dropped the vehicle off with no notice of the damage. That is not true.Be wary of these folks, and document document document.PS- The vehicle had Cheetos, hair ties, and a bunch of crumbs in it when I picked it up. Nothing else was available at the time, so I couldn't trade it in for a cleaner rental.

I will never rent a car from Hertz again, nor will any in my family or business circle. They must use claims against renters as a profit center. Gave me a car with a cracked windshield. The manager himself documented it. Months later they're harassing me for $425 for a windshield. The manager assured me he'd correct the situation and then did nothing. Their scheme parallels insurance companies playing games with disconnected calls, passing the buck and harassment. I've never had such a bad experience for a rental. #neverhertz

Terrible. I was driving the car down the freeway and realized that the wiper blades were coming off. I called them and they told me to just get new ones and to keep the receipt. I did so, gave them the receipt when I returned the car, the manager told me he would get my refund done. I still haven't seen my refund, he won't answer my calls nor reply to my emails.DO NOT GO WITH THEM

Charged over double my reservation fee, and so difficult to get anyone with common sense enough to help resolve, let alone get my refund. I rented a vehicle here for 3 days, and returned it as planned. A month later I find out they charged me an extra day, at a daily rate of 3 times the cost of the daily rate I had on my original reservation. I found the receipt which clearly showed they checked the vehicle in about 4-5 hours after I dropped it off. I contacted hertz, who sent me to the local rep. The local rep said she was not familiar with how to make an adjustment, and I would have to call back for her manager. This was wild. The lady was literally yelling at me through the phone. Still trying to get a refund while filing dispute with my bank and the BBB.

This Hertz will lie to you even if it means putting your life at risk.They lied to me and said charged upgrade was an all-wheel drive. It was not and I got stuck in the snow at 11pm on the Teton Pass. Switched out my car at Jackson, WY next day. I was told I would not receive additional charges given circumstances but this Idaho Falls airport location did indeed charge me for separate destination fee. Called the location to talk to manager who was not available because he was "looking at cars" and was told he would call back. Of course, never got a call-back. This business and the manager is just shady and corrupt all around. Avoid like your life depends on it.

Horrible experience! Couldn’t even pick up the car that I had a reservation for. Nobody behind counter so called the number posted and a woman who was in the back counter hiding answers and says “ who are you and what do you want!?” Then as if that’s not bad enough, could not figure out how to pull up my reservation, use a coupon, or anything. Then tells me her system is down when asking for a receipt. She could t even show me her computer screen or any proof that she had done anything. And tried handing me a paper to look at a car I’m assuming, no keys or anything. Why would I take a car when I have no contract, no receipt or anything? She kept slurring “ don’t be mad at me, it’s not my fault my computer doesn’t work”…if you computer doesn’t work then why are you handing me paper to look at a potential car…if you have no way of confirming reservation. The whole situation was out of the twilight zone, I walked away with no car and called Hertz customer service who also did nothing. NEVER use HERTZ! Use any other car agency apparently they let anyone work there.FYI she did not seem coherent or even soberPotentially. The people behind me also couldn’t believe her behavior.

Terrible experience at this location!! I was visiting the area from Florida and had initially rented from a different company, however, they did not have the vehicle I needed to accommodate my family size. Since I am a Hertz member, I decided to check with them to see if they had any SUVs available. First off, I waited for approximately 15 minutes as the CSR sat behind the desk with her feet propped up on a personal phone call. I cleared my throat on several occasions in attempt to get her attention. When I realized that was not working, I finally said "excuse me ma'am, can I please get some assistance?" The CSR looked up at me and said "oh I did not see you" as she told the person to "hang on" and kept her phone in hand. I explained my situation to her and before I could even finish she said they did not have any SUVs available. I asked when the next SUV would become available and she said not anytime soon without checking her computer. I understand Idaho Falls is a smaller town and the CSRs most likely have their vehicles memorized. I would have appreciated for her to at least give me a date of when the next SUV would be avail. As I walked away, I heard her return to her personal phone call. It appeared she was just trying to get rid of me quickly so she could return to her phone call. This occurred July 8th, 2022 at about 4 PM. This is poor representation of Hertz company.

Couldn’t say more about how nice the owner treated us today!!! We were in a total bind with Delta’s flight delays. Had a window of opportunity to drive to Salt Lake and make our connection…. And the Hertz owner totally over delivered. Checked in our old car, got us a super nice new one, gave an amazing rate and totally saved our return trip home!! It was evident this owner really cared about treating his customers well!!! Thank you!!!

Great customer service! When we arrived to pick up our car, we received a vehicle that had some issues. We had to swap cars, which was a frustrating start to our trip but the Hertz team at IDA gave us a discount upon returning the car and was helpful in making the trip enjoyable.

Absolutely horrible customer service, car was dirty, and the service light came on while I was on my trip.. I will not ever use them again. They have horrible reviews for a reason and they live up to those reviews without a hesitation nor problems.. I would highly recommend using another rental company at the airport.

The staff was unprofessional both when getting my car he did not explain extra charge for a extra driver, tossed me back my id and credit card. When I got into the car it was not clean there where coffee stain on the middle console so not as they say they clean extra due to Covid no way. While driving the service light for a oil change came on scary. When I returned the car is when I found out about the extra charge she was very rude an apologetic about me not knowing about the charge , I said I was not told about the charge her response was “I didn’t rent it you “rude and also tossed me back the recite. As a gold member I expected more always have gone through Hertz but stay away from this one. I gave it the benefit of the doubt after reading the reviews but the reviews are accurate and to the tee. Beware !!!
