Not good at all. I rented hybrid car for five days. On fourth day morning car battery died. I missed my important meeting and needed to get car jump start. When i contacted the ‘approved’ vendor, i was told that Avis will pay for it. Three weeks later I got bill of 148.8$ to jump start the hybrid car. Not happy at all!

I simply can't be more frustrated with AVIS. They gave me a smokey car (it was so bad our clothes smelled of smoke after we were in the car for only minutes) and when we returned the car, they overcharged us for the rental. The manager, Justin, was absent for several days and allegedly was the only person on the planet who could help refund / fix the charge. When we finally got him on the phone, he was unhelpful ... seems like the staff at AVIS just don't care about "trying harder" anymore.

Do NOT rent from Avis here. Told us it would be an extra 4-5 days to switch cars to the one that we chose to rent when they messed up and gave us the wrong size. Literally illegal to drive the car they gave us through some roads on our trip. They were entirely unprofessional and unaccommodating, and we are preferred members. Even before we went up to the counter people were frustrated at their service.

Avis was excellent. I was in IDaho because my son’s lung collapsed and he was longer able to fly home. I had a hard time finding a car rental company that had a car they wanted to part with for the one way trip home to Maryland. Avis was the only company that came through for my family. I am grateful for their helpfulness and the upgrade to a larger car for my son to be more comfortable.

Absolutely the easiest part of our recent interstate travel experience. From phone customer service to the app capabilities and pick-up/drop-off, I would be hard-pressed to find something that could have been done better. The only thing I thought was a miss was that the vehicle didn’t have floor mats and our travel was very dirty but I am sure there’s a reason they remove them.

Don’t fall for the cheap rental scam, they have a 500 miles limit which they won’t tell while booking, only after renting.

Use National or Enterprise. They use digital check out very easy. Avis gave inaccurate car. I paid for a camry and got a bad chevy with no acceleration and needed to drive far on the freeway. Have to fill out a form to check out... inconvenient. Prepaid avis made account online and then took 15 min to get keys as the front desk made thr experience drawn out for no reason. Enterprise /natioanl very helpful nice and easy to work with.
