I booked a consultation with Mark and he was excellent. He offered me practical advice, explained everything in ways I could understand, and he was a pleasure to talk with. I have a slightly complicated tax situation, and I'd highly recommend him to anyone with the same. Thank you, Mark!

I had such a bizarre experience this week with Mark. At first he was really funny and awesome and I thought I had found my lifetime tax guy. Until I filed an extension and made the "mistake" of asking him if the deadline was april 15. Of which I got the immediate response of "Dont you read your emails". I went back to check his last email and he had told me not to contact him until April 18. Iʻm a mom of three young children and am self employed, I have to admit sometimes I can miss these things. He then sent an immediate second email firing me for making the "mistake" of asking about the tax deadline which was 3 days before the filing deadline of april 18. Perhaps because of the stress of tax deadlines? I dont know what was going on, but at any rate it left me high and dry for my tax filing deadline. I now am scrambling to find someone to help me at the last minute which is of course proving impossible. Not a good experience whatsoever and honestly.....kind of shook me up.

Unprofessional behavior. Scheduled a consultation and asked a few questions about his qualifications and cited some tax research i had done in an email beforehand. It must've seemed too complex, as the response I got was: "I'm gonna take a pass on this. I wish you good luck in getting your issues worked out." Given that I was in a situation where I really needed a CPA, that was a hard blow. I hope he's kinder to his future clients and doesn't abandon them when they need help the most.

Errors and unprofessional behavior. I was filing for the first time a personal tax return for my recently deceased mother and a return for the family Trust. After the personal return was completed by Mark, there was a misunderstanding about fees and I realize I should have asked in writing. I mentioned I would explain to my family to be transparent. I signed the personal return and then asked him questions after looking at it further. Since this was my first time to file these returns for family, maybe missing personal income was in the Trust return? Instead of responding, Mark withdrew from the engagement on April 1st, sighting I implied he wasn't being transparent, leaving my family stranded 2 weeks prior to taxes due. I asked him: Did you file the personal return and where is the income reported? He said he filed the personal return and the file is closed. I asked twice more to provide how he calculated numbers. Where is income reported? No response, work papers or explanations were ever provided. Ultimately, a CPA friend from a large firm re-entered all the data for both returns and found errors throughout. Mark left out big investment income from a tax form and did not report other income correctly based on date of death. He double counted income from a K-1 on both returns. He incorrectly used a SS# for where the EIN# was to go. Instead of admitting that he left out income and correcting the unfiled Trust return, he abandoned the engagement. The behavior to not respond to a valid question of how he calculated numbers was unprofessional and possibly unethical. The errors made were careless and negligent. I was shocked at both the behavior and the errors made. This is unfortunate and I asked him to be pono and just answer my question about where is income from the tax forms provided, but he would not, and even more errors were identified.

Mark is a lifesaver. He is not only professional, he makes taxes dare I say fun. He’ll walk you through any tax nightmare effortlessly. I walked in after a traumatic last experience and he put my tax ptsd to rest. Thank goodness for Mark. I’d recommend him without hesitation.

He lacked focus, submitted drafts to me with errors and was generally unprofessional. His business model is pay first. Then he controls the speed and quality of his work. Operates like a part-time job and his work shows that.

Mark is the best! I had a great experience of getting to work with him on some tax issues which he quickly resolved in a matter of days. He is very prompt at responding via email/text. He made me feel very comfortable and reassured me of financial terms and such which I had no knowledge of. I appreciated the tax services and would highly recommend him! :)

Tax time is stressful enough on it's own. After reading all the positive Google Reviews about Mark Lee, I set up an appointment (very easy on his website) to see if he could file our taxes this year. He was easy to talk to, he listened, answered all my questions, and got to work promptly! He did exactly what he promised and was very friendly & easy to work with. I am so relieved that I chose Mark Lee for this. I will continue to use his services in the future and highly recommend him if you are looking for help with accounting.

Mark Lee is not only an immaculate accountant in regards to detail and professionalism, he is truly a genuinely lovely human and a pleasure to work with. Rarely do we get to interact with business professionals that encompass not only a high level of professionalism, efficiency and experience but that also are personable, genuine and truly care for the Client like Mark. I work in Real Estate and had less than perfect tax practices before I was referred to Mark. Mr. Lee had my taxes high and tight and took the time to help me get a better understanding of how to manage my taxes for my industry. It's going to be hard to beat all these great reviews. Didn't read them all yet, but I don't think there's even one that's bad. Touch'e! New Category ( Best Review ). Couldn't believe this guy. Thought it was a typo! Mark really is open at 6:00 AM during the business week, unheard of on Maui or anywhere else. Oh I live in Kihei, lots of CPA's but not like Mark. He answers his e-mails and phone calls promptly. I messed up some forms for my business account that needed to be corrected by 12/31/19. 12/23/19 he said he had a few scheduled appointments, but he'd work me in. In and out in about an hour. Can't say enough about him! Seems like everybody else has. Except he's extremely knowledgeable and reasonably priced. A True, Honest, Southern Gentleman! I would recommend anyone that needs a CPA.
