“Costco gas looks like their lines are long but because all their pumps are working and it make for the lines going fast. Also they have so many pumps! Much faster than Sam's gas.”

“Came in to check out some plate lunch offerings late afternoon and was pleased to see a happy hour special of $5 for what sushi, bowls and poke was still present after 530 so we stocked up on poke nachos, spicy crab, spicy ahi inari and some sushi. Was impressed at the quality of fish and how the rice wasn't dried out! so good! Noticed so many people grabbing pizzas and burgers here as well - we were so curious how they were too but will try another time!”

“You can use your FoodLand/Sack n Save Maika'i card to get 5¢ off per gallon. That's so helpful right now with gas prices so high.We enjoy their Ice machine, keeps us cool with different flavors. They also have a smoothie machine that blends your pick right there. They also have different ready to go snacks from sandwiches, Musubi, fresh fruit bowls, salad bowls, etc. Huge assortment of drinks and snack.Wonderful customer service!”

“Not a ton of pumps, and I didn't go inside so I can't say what that looks like. The price of gas is about average for the city currently. I did notice they have a vacuum available for cars (just one) but can't say if it's free or not. So why four stars you may ask? The reason is location, location, location my friend. Situated just up the road from the Kona Coast Resort, if you're bougie enough to be staying there or working nearby it provides an opportunity to get gas unmolested from the working class types in the city below. Located far enough off of a main highway or city street it is almost never busy which is rare at a gas station on the islands, so you won't have somebody crawling up your tailpipe to get at your pump. It's also situated on top of a hill, with gorgeous views of the ocean to contemplate while taking a moment to relax pumping gas before joining the unwashed masses below.”

“Gas is not cheap on the islands… Well, however if you plan to fill-up before your exploring trip in the morning or before rental car “drop-off” – this is the most convenient location I guess, if you're staying in the area and price-wise, you cannot really win you going to “drive around” ;-) Also, another excuse to get gas here to stop at “KTA-Store” for some snack or food to go (did that many times).”

“Working in the customer service for over 10 years and being a tour guide for over 5 years I recognize exceptional soft skills and customer service when I see it. The woman with the black short hair at the cash register in the evenings has always brightened my day just the two times that I have gone to this gas station. I usually only go to Costco bc they are the cheapest. But the shell gas station on Lako street in kona has a very great atmosphere. My first time grabbing gas I was rushing bc I have a commitment in South Kona a few afternoons a month. She pointed out the sunset which helped me take a moment to pause and feel gratitude amongst the daily routine of life. Then another time she gave the customer in front of me in line a nice compliment. Long story short. I find her ability to create a positive joyful atmosphere in a simple shell gas station quite remarkable. We all go to the gas station to fill up our cars and get in and out. So to experience an extra kindness and friendliness is really offsetting. Especially the way her service is still very fast and efficient. Now that’s the multitasking that is unobtainable for most. I’ve never written a review for anything. I’ve gone on ziplines, boat tours, fishing tours and snorkeling tours around the island. But I had to go out of my way to shout out to the shell gas station. I believe genuineness needs to be recognized. I’d say this lady deserves a raise but Im 99% sure that she is the manager bc why wouldn’t she be.”

“We rented a car from a private service and had to wash and vacuum the car before returning it. The touchless car wash was more than sufficient since we rented a sedan and didn’t do anything off-road. Price for the car wash was reasonable. You can expect to pay anywhere between $12-16 pretax depending on the level of wash you want either inside the gas station or at the drive up kiosk before entering the actual wash. They do have an option for brush washing but I’ve always had bad experiences with those. There are 2 stations for vacuum, air, and water. Vacuum is a little weak on picking up sand and in crevasses but it’s what you’d expect from a DIY car wash. Paper towels dispensers are on the gas pumps which are right across from the vacuum stations. It can get a little tight since you’re sharing space with the pumps. It can be busy in that area and there’s no real place to line up so you gotta make it work.Overall, it accomplished what we needed.”

“Great car wash! Tip the guys well, and you'll be astounded at how perfectly clean your car comes out. The fact that you don't need quarters for the vacuums is a very nice touch”

“Stopped by to fill up my rental car's tank on the way back to the airport, and I picked up some really good fried chicken for the flight home. The chicken was fried perfectly and was very tasty, even after a couple of hours.”
