This is one of the few car repair shops that I would 100% recommend to family and friends. Carlton is knowledgeable, honest and has integrity. I've taken multiple cars to him for servicing over the years. Recently my son's 2006 Matrix needed the AC fixed and radiator replaced. This is not cheap since they need to totally remove the dash to do the replacement ($2400), but after contemplating it the car still has a few years left and Hawaii is too dang hot without AC even for a teenager! He can do other repairs besides AC and can also do safety checks. Don't expect a fancy place with some luxurious waiting room for you. He's too busy fixing cars and trying to get them back out to his customers as soon as he can. Although he does have another mechanic working with him, it's basically a one man show and he's the estimator, mechanic and office assistant all in one. But if you don't want to get swindled by other places I'd call him, he's honest and it's hard to find these "old school " guys that won't give you BS. *bonus is he's got this Yorkie terrier in his office that's a cutie!

I have been ripped off by so many mechanics in my life it is ridiculous!!!Either they don't care or they don't know what they are doing as that seems to be the current situation in the auto repair industry.I was talking with my friend Shane about already going to 3 auto repair shops and they each charged me for what they said would fix the problem but the noise was still there and I got no refund as they already changed and replaced parts that didn't make the noises go away.He recommended his neighbor from the 70's and said give him a try. I was skeptical because of my past experiences but I was surely amazed with the results and straight talk.He found the problem immediately and I had to leave the car overnight and I was blown out of my mind when I picked it up the next day that everything was fixed, even another issue that I mentioned to him with my A/C blower not blowing intermittently.All I can say is he is a 5* mechanic and doesn't BS like others I have dealt with in the past. I haven't been leaving reviews on Yelp the last few years since I just been too busy working 3 jobs which is the cost of living in Hawaii trying to buy a house, but in this case, I had to because this has changed my life, I wish I talked to Shane previously and got referred here years ago!!!He is not the cheapest, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and what good is going to 3 other mechanics paying a cheap price and nothing is fixed and when you add up the combined costs which were almost double what I ended up paying here along with all the time wasted and stress, I value my time since life is short and we surely don't want to waste it dealing with donkeys!!!I WILL BE BACK AND I WILL REFER FRIENDS AND FAMILY...those who are not looking for the cheapest price, but wanting the BEST VALUE!!!Thank you very much Carlton!

Carlton is a great guy and experienced mechanic. But you need to give him the time to do the work on your vehicle. Also, must make an appointment in advance for the work after consulting with him. His prices are very good too. He stayed on schedule and kept me updated. Just remember he does quality work, but doesn't have many staff. Probably, that really helps him control his prices.

Short of the long: he is great and won't rip you off. Long of the short: I was in a pinch and needed gas OUT of my car because I was shipping it. I drove around for hours trying to burn gas but my blasted car has awesome gas mileage. To make matters worse I was flying off island the next day. He managed to get out enough gas and also noticed I didn't have an inspection sticker. My d*** self didn't go back to the original inspection place after I got my car registered. He saved me by getting gas out AND doing the inspection so I could have the sticker. If I wasn't moving off island he'd be my maintenance guy!
