Love the antiques

There are a lot of great furniture pieces in the store, but some of the smaller items seemed much newer than I would expect to find in an antique store. My biggest drawback was there was a teething puppy wandering around the store that, while very cute, kept trying to nip my hand.

This is definitely the best antique store in hilo. There is so much quality and original amazing finds here that you just can’t find the same thing online like other stores in Hilo. I came in today looking for some vintage rattan furniture. The guy that helped me was extremely helpful and I also found many other beautiful and original pieces I might try and come back for another day. The store is packed full of quality items that will definitely hold their value and make the decor in your home look custom and unique. I really really love the great customer service and the excellent items you find there.

I had Bryan restore an antique sideboard that had deteriorated to (almost) kindling in a shipping container for 3 years. The burl veneer was completely warped and peeling off. Virtually all the bracing and legs had fallen off from dissolved glue. (I re-glued those pieces.) He explained that veneer doesn't last long on the island, so he'd flip the veneered panels, and stain them to match the rest of the piece. It wasn't going to be cheap, but it was clear he was going to do it right. He took it away, and within three weeks, he had it looking showroom-quality! He even took the top piece (which was in good shape) to make sure he got the top color matching the bottom. If you're looking for an EXCELLENT furniture restorer, Bryan is your guy!

When Bryan arrived at my aunties garage sale, he rudely told her that her antique family furniture was overpriced. Bryan never disclosed that he was a salesman and Auntie felt pressured to sell her furniture at a lower price. She felt bad for him in his white moldy and rusty 90’s van and unshaven beard stubble. Turns out her furniture was worth a lot, which Bryan profited on by over 500 percent. Bryan is another overweight sweaty white male who is interested in his own profit. Don’t support a business that takes advantage of elderly local people.

This shop was the first place I hit when I first came to Hawaii. I instantly fell in love and try to get there every time I go to town. Just fabulous!

A wide variety of items, but nothing sparked my interest this last visit. It was more vintage than antique and the prices felt higher.

Incredibly varied store, definitely something for everyone. Give it 30 minutes, look at everything and if you don't walk out with something I'd be really surprised. I would say 80% of my furniture has come from here. Loads of different styles and price ranges. There is an upstairs also and a few pieces in Santosha Salon.

Large collection of antique furniture and home decor items. Some reproduction items as well. Nice selection of glass Japanese fishing net floats on display when I visited. Definitely the best antique shop in Hilo.

My wife and I are buying an old home and wanted to furnish it with plantation era furniture. Everyone at Bryan Booth Antiques & Restoration were so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Why buy new when you can buy quality furniture from the past that has been beautifully restored?
