We stumbled upon this general store on our way back from the beach and we are so glad we ended up here. The poke was so fresh and delicious - highly recommend trying the oyster sauce poke. We had a great conversation with Lupe. He let us try samples of the other poke offerings he had available. It was also such a great deal - around $8.99 for one poke of choice and rice. The serving sizes are also super generous. This is a to-go counter - so don't expect any seating to be available. Take it to the nearest beach to enjoy.

This is hands down the best Poke on the island. Very good prices and so fresh. Samples for all types made it hard to decide what was the best. All the staff were so friendly.

Went into Whalers General in Anahola and was pleasantly surprised by the "Delious" plate lunches! The poki was really fresh and tasty. The employees were helpful and so friendly. I'll definitely come back

Great poke and Hawaiian plates available around lunchtime at the counter on one end of this small grocery/convenience store. We love the lau lau….our favorite dish ever on Kauai. They may run out by mid afternoon so try to get there around lunch.

Hawaiian plates and many kinds of poke bowls to choose from. The Chicken Adobo was tender with good sized chunks of chicken breast. Many varieties of poke, 2/3 lb of meat in a two poke bowl. Great place suggested by locals.

The new closing hour is 7pm instead of 8 as shown on Google map. Otherwise good poke (a bit plain but better than too salty)

Best poke on the island!! We come here every few days each time we come to Hawaii! The fish is so fresh and it is the best price on the island for sushi! Can’t recommend it enough!

I've never felt so discriminated by anyone except for when I went to my interview with Annette!!! She made me feel so belittle by making me believe I was hired! Mind you I filled out the hiring packet, went to get a tb test, even ordered my uniform!!!!! Then she told me I couldn't be hired because my piercing! Mind you I was about to get it removed the next day! Then she told me she can't hire me cause she did the hiring wrong but made me feel like it was my problem! And then she told me I couldn't be hired because of my tattoos which could be covered up and then she said I couldn't be hired because of my resume when hunnie I am real and legit !! I really feel it's because I was trans she didn't wanna hire me so here attached is my resume now you tell me what you think and how my gender affects my professional more than qualified resume!!!! I will be seeking out to my lawyer about this discussion!!!! Mind you she's fairly new and didn't even know where things was! What a shame really for a store manager to do such a thing!!!!

I mean where else can you get your afrin for your random allergies and, no joke, the BEST spicy tuna poke bowl I have ever had. I'm just angry I found it on my second to last day on the island. Don't sleep on Whaler's.
