Staffs are really friendly and helpful. Dr. James Vlahos is my primary care and he's doing the best job. So far my experience with Emory as new patient is great.

I cannot understand what's going on with them since taken over by Emory. Cannot reach them directly, and will not respond to calls, after the test results there is no review especially if the tests were done at a non-emory location. I used to be very happy with Dr. Benjamin, but now I have to seriously consider looking for another Primary care. So terrible with Emory Monopoly

I started going to Rockbridge Medicine as a young adult and trusted them to see the rest of my family as well, including my mom. Our doctor was Dr. Tina Ann Kerr Thompson and she was great in the beginning. However, as time went on she got less attentive and didn't take our concerns seriously. This was concerning because she is a black woman so we thought she we understand how black women are more likely to be misdiagnosed or their symptoms ignored and that she would be more attentive. But that was not the case. She actually ignored my moms symptoms that ended up being stage four breast cancer. After us being patients for over a decade, she didn't even have the descency to deliver the news or follow up with her until she called to request to speak with her directly. My mom trusted her and believed in her and she failed her. She also scheduled my mom for breast surgery and never did a full body scan when all along the cancer was everywhere. Her doctor peers were shocked and said a full body scan should have been done and my mom should've been referred to am oncologist first rather than a breast surgeon. The breast surgeon also happened to be Dr. Thompson's friend. She became arrogant in her abilities and when an urgent care doctor told my mom to have her doctor order a CAT scan because if back pain, Dr. Thompson refused stating she wanted to do it her way first when all along the cancer had spread and it was on her spin. Yet Dr.. Thompson kept saying it was a pulled muscle knowing she had breast cancer and that cancer can spread. We never heard from Dr. Thompson after the diagnosis and not even after my mom died. Save yourself and do not go to this office or doctor. This still haunts me because she could've been diagnosed so much sooner.

Since they joined with Emory it's not the same, and now my doctor doesn't seem to care much about the lack of good service. They even lost my husbands chart once the switch with Emory happened. I will not be back after being with them for over10 yrs. Really sad.

When I actually see my doctor, I love her and I know she listens to me and never rushes our visit. However, it is impossible to get a response from this office through the patient portal or by calling the call center (which is actually on the Emory campus). You cannot call directly to this office. The only option is to go to the office and wait to speak to someone.

I have been going here off and on. Today I had an appt this morning and it almost 40 minutes from my schedule appt to pull me to the back. I had to ask the receptionist how long will it take. The younger receptionist was on the phone like it's not a business. She isn't polite and very rude when you give her your paperwork. I'm disappointed because I haven't been here and years and I like the physician that's here. I came back to see her because she does a great work. But the staff from the beginning except the older lady at the front needs improvement. The nurses in the back need some retraining themselves. I work in healthcare myself and know that it's important to be friendly the time someone walks in and when they leaving. Let's not make excuses for not doing job we were given to our best available. Everyone is short staff but don't use this as excuse for not performing your job the way you should.

This family practice physician group previously was superb; however since joining forces with the Emory Healthcare system it has declined. The overall physicians have not changed. What has changed is the manner in which you have to contact them. All calls go through a call center which is nothing but masses of individuals who answer calls and forward your message to hopefully the appropriate person. Or you can utilize the patient portal which I have not had much success with. Messages that are returned are very abrupt and impersonal and never seem to address the issue at hand. I truly hope that this message is seen by someone at Rockbridge family medicine because this type of care is unacceptable.

Easy and accessible doctor in the neighborhood. Communication is slow however that's normal for doctors offices - great pa's and assistance

My Family has been going to Rockbridge Family Medicine for 20+ years where there is a very good staff of doctors, P.A.s, and nurses. However, since Emory Medical took over their practice some years ago, customer service is very near worthless. There is no way to directly call their office now. Callbacks are random and on one occasion, giving inaccurate (and scary) information about a procedure. This is not the medical team's fault, but of the Emory management. I am swearing off anything "Emory" forever more.
