I've done business with Master Transmissions Inc. since 2021 when they rebuilt the transmission on my truck. I've recommended plenty of people to go here and there's no telling how many of them turned into customers. I've never had a problem with their service until today (5/28/2024). I called in on March 15th, 2024 and scheduled an appointment to get my ATF changed. I was told that May 28th was the next available date and to be there at 8:00 AM for my appointment. I was there at 7:45 this morning and did not get to leave until after 12:00. I spoke with Tim when I arrived and he took my information and got my keys and I let him know I had no choice but to wait it out because I have no other way to get home unless I walked the 15 miles home and while he told me that they PREFER people to leave their vehicles, but if I really couldn't have someone pick me up, that I could pull up a chair because it might be a bit before they got to my truck. No worries on having to wait a bit while other things get handled from the previous day before they can get to mine. There was no issue with that and every other employee that came through the lobby all nodded or spoke and no one seemed to have a problem with me being there as I kept to myself, didn't bother anyone asking "is it done yet?" until I asked Allan, the owner of the business, if my truck was ready after the truck had been brought back out front for over half an hour and I saw one of the techs hang the keys on the "done" board. I was never rude but this is when the problem started for me. Allan proceeded to be rude with me saying that "I can't have you ever do this again, I do not allow people to wait with their cars, I don't run no Dairy Queen, that's not what this area is built for." Meanwhile it is a waiting area with multiple chairs and not a sign in sight that reads "you are not allowed to wait here with your car, you need to have a ride before you drop your vehicle off". Before I could finish explaining that I had 0 options for a ride, I was cut off and told "I don't care, you need to figure that out." (Sidebar: I try to do good by everyone that I can, I am actually quite a few people's main source of a ride because they currently don't have a car, so my options are very limited currently and luckily in years past when I had to drop my truck off for service with Allan and the crew, I was fortunate enough at that time to have someone who could give me a ride, but that is not the situation now, sometimes you have to do what you have to do to make life work. It's not like I WANTED to wait there for 5 hours, I'd literally rather do anything else, but I had NO CHOICE because I'm not walking Gray Hwy with the way people drive down it and Uber/Lyft/Yellow Cab is sketchy in this area at best.) So then after some back and forth, never was I rude about anything nor raise my voice, but was told "maybe I should learn to do it myself and handle my own fluid change from now on." So I went ahead and paid and got my keys and left without further incident and never will I return to this business nor recommend it to anyone. The mechanic service isn't the problem, they do good work, but the customer service is obviously lacking because there is a completely different way to handle it. Since my vehicle wasn't taken into the shop until after I had been there an hour and a half, if it really were an issue for me to stay there, Allan got there around 8:30 and could've asked me to find a ride or cancel my appointment until I could schedule a ride since it's a problem for people to wait, but none of it was a problem for me to sit quietly in the lobby until 5 hours later. Had I known this would've been that much of an issue for him, I would've already canceled my appointment and waited until a more opportune time, but seeing how poorly this was handled and what unprofessional manner it was handled in, I can guarantee that I won'

We ran into a bit of transmission troubles on our way to Savannah GA from Chattanooga TN. After getting sent to several different repair shops including a dealership we ended up here at Master Transmissions. Alan was so nice and extremely helpful. Transmission went out on my truck while traveling. Full replacement and I was back on the road within the week. They quickly assessed the damage told me how long it would take and finished the job when they said.

I took my car here , heard they are the best , I try to call them and continue no answer so I went there and the phone was purposely off the hook, had to drive there just to speak to a person , so rediculous. This is just for real bad phone service .Service: Transmission
