Dr Townsend is a rude, arrogant and mean person. I have never see someone be so cruel to an animal. I know, I am no vet. But I definitely know it is wrong to cut a dogs toe so deep he needs staples in his foot. I was told a old scab on my dogs foot would need to be removed. The only reason I brought him in was my dogs groomer has seen the scab the past couple times he'd been groomed so she advised me to get it checked out! It didn't bother him he never messed with it. Till now. Now he has two staples in his paw. It's wrapped completely and he was put in so much pain today for what..? They didn't test the scab to see if it was cancerous. Dr Townsend practically rolled her eyes when I asked if it could be cancer. I will never be back. And dr Townsend should never be allowed around animals ever again. Call me a crazy dog lady if you will but what my dog was put through today was absolutely NOT CALLED FOR. Oh and I got charged $150 ..? To put my dog through hell... Her employees were amazing they always are. There's new people in there every time I go in. If you're thinking about bringing your animals here... don't... Dr Townsend has always been rude and always will be. If you want a vet that only cares about how fast you can swipe your card... she's the one for you

Dr. Laura Townsend is by FAR the very best vet anyone could ever ask for. She has been taking care of my fur babies for over 25 years. My 1st was 16 1/2 yrs. old when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in Dr. Townsends arms & 2 weeks ago she held my sweet tiny 15 1/2 yr. old as she crossed that Bridge to join her brother! Losing our fur baby that is loved like our child is hard enough as it is. But when you have someone as wonderful as Dr. Townsend taking care of them you know for a FACT that they are well taken care of & given the very best life & care possible. Dr. Townsend gives you the straight forward details about your pet & never any "EXTRA" that you don't need or need to do just to add cost. Her #1 focus is the love & care for your pet & I could not thank her enough for that! I still have one more baby that she is taking care of & I know he will always be given the BEST! If you want the best of the best then this is where your fur baby needs to be coming!

My mother had an urgent request to have her cat seen on a Thursday when her vet (the vet I also worked for as a teen) couldn't get her in. South Hall Vet was not only willing to see her but was prompt, they followed up & kept in contact on her cat daily while he went through a bout of gastrointestinal inflammation. South Hall Vet is where I would recommend ANYONE to go in the area.

i had a very unfortunate experience at South Hall Veterinary with a Dr. Townsend this morning. while her staff were very nice and engaging, she was abrupt and uncompassionate with her communication with me. My dog was injured with a almost complete abruption of his front dewclaw. I explained to her staff and then to Dr Townsend that he was a rather recent adoption from the Humane Society with no social history. I had worked hard to develop a good trusting rapport with him, he's a precious companion, requested I remain with him while she examined him to keep him calm. This was quickly dismissed by Dr. Townsend and she said he needs to learn life lessons and be more adaptable. When they were unable to have him be cooperative in another rooma way from me, she came back and said he needs sedation and would need to remain at their clinic for several hours afterwards. I declined that option part, this could've been handled in a lesser and more efficient way, she left the room saying I needed to take him back, she would not treat him. I could hear her loudly telling her technician from another room why she declined treatment for him by her. The technician, who was more gentle, brought him back to me without his dressing as nothing was replaced that they removed. I am so sorry I took this route when I should have gone elsewhere. it may be true that he needed a little something to calm if there would be a procedure involved, but it was her poor attitude, her lack of total regard for myself or my dog, lack of rapport, that left me feeling very uncomfortable with her care. I will never be back! The veterinarian's attitude was as bad as the very sorry appearance of her building. ( There was no charge given to me for what ended up as no service.)

Very nice. Always explain everything. Will ask if permission before anything is done outside of agreed actions. They are very reasonable in price! I've been going there for going on 9 months and am very happy to have found them!

DO NOT GO HERE. I've heard vets can be money hungry, but these guys took it to an entire other level. What's ironic is I chose this vet because over the phone they sounded the exact opposite. I scheduled an appointment for my new puppy who just needed here second DHPP booster shot, her previous vet has already done a fecal test and deworming/exam, so all I needed was the booster. I call in to schedule the appointment and the lady was at first very nice and sounded like they were all bout doing the most minimal amount of shots possible for the puppy for her health, so I was really excited and thought I had found a great vet. So I get in there thinking its going to be quick and cost about 30$ to get her the booster and be out, my ride was in a rush outside. So I tell them again that all she needs is her second DHPP, they say thats fine. They take my puppy back and when they come back an old lady who was the vet comes in and tells me that they did a fecal (never asked) quickly gives the puppy her shot, and then immediately without asking deworms her (she didn't need it) and then starts talking about spots on the top of the puppies head (which im 90% sure are absolutely nothing) and sais she's going to scrape the skin and check for mites. She never sais its going to cost me money, just quickly does it and comes back and sais that she found nothing but we essentially aren't out of the woods yet. So okay great she found nothing, assuming they didn't tell me anything was going to cost me money or even ask if I wanted to do it, im assuming they just did it complimentary as your first visit, otherwise surely they would have stated it was going to cost money and or ask me if she even needed it...right?...r-right? Wrong. I get to the desk and somehow what was a 30$ shot turned into a 150$ visit for her to tell me absolutely nothing was wrong (which I already knew because her previous vet had already done this) so then I say what, how did we get to 150$?? They start listing off all these stuff, 28 dollars for here to scrap skin, 20 dollars fer her to do an "exam", charges for the fecal, charges for the medications I didn't ask for or need. So when I say that that is way too much, and. I dont need the medicine, oh boy. This old lady doctor starts going off on me basically telling me I'm an idiot and know nothing about vets or dogs, and if I just wanted a shot then I should have said that (which I did, many many times) so she yelling storming around the office proclaiming her time is worth all this money and that im an idiot (she spent 5 minutes examining, boy I wish I could charge 100$+ for 5 minutes of looking at a dog and proclaiming nothing is wrong. So then after fighting for awhile (mind you my ride was in a rush still waiting outside) I get them to lower the cost to 58$, so ok only double what I was told it would be, and they take the medication away. The extra 28$ they ended up charging me was for a skin scrape, that tested for mites, that came back negative and I never asked for. Turns out the medications they were going to give to me, and give to every new puppy that comes in, cures the mites, and its just the basic flea and tick medication. So the entire time they were going to give me medication that would have treated the mites, because they give it to every puppy, they still felt the need to scrape the skin, even though the medication was going to cure it. Then in the end, they charge me 28$ for the skin scrape, instead of charging me for the medications that would have solved the issue, so I paid 28$ for nothing, and didn't even get the medication that would have also only costed me 28$. I dont know if this old lady vet, I forget her name but based off other reviews sounds like its Townshend or something, im sure the office knows, she needs fired, or this place will go under. Also the white lady with the short har and fat at the front needs fired, both of them think they can get away with calling your customers idiots and robbing them of their hard earned money with

Today I had the misfortune of running over my puppy. He must have been somewhere under the f350. I didn't see him and he didn't move when I started to move. I got out and checked on him, finding that we need to go to the vets. I located and called the closest people as time is of the essence given the situation. The appointment was set and directions ready to go I set off. I pulled into the place listed for the phone number, it wasn't correct. The phone is linked to south hall vet and not the one listed here. Something seems fishy about it all to be frank but in any event this is not a accurate listing
