If you want a bank that you can actually talk to a human being on the phone with when you have a problem or a question don’t bother to open an account at this one
I don’t think humans work there. I had a question called 10 times and no one answered the phone.

Very disappointed in the service I receive at southstate basically any location they wanted to hold a check that was actually from one of their investment firms that they recommended and their representative said there would not be a hold but at the bank they made me wait 20 minutes to try to figure it out and then informed me there would be in hold on my account very disappointed in the lack of communication I will be moving my bank account to another bank. You just can’t get good service these days.

Horrible bank. Horrible people. No one can pick up a phone a call a customer back. Very unprofessional people. Charge you fees when they offer a free business account. Stay away. Very far away.

I have had this bank since high school in 2016. I have had 6 people hack my account since then. There is no way to freeze your account in the app or online. RUNN from this bank at all costs. South State does not have a 24/7 account Service for debt cards no matter what they say you'll have to wait until business hours. I have tried to contact someone about a fraudulent phone call, and no one helped me. SouthState representatives connected me to US Bank, an entirely different bank. I tried for an hour on the phone with no help. So now someone has taken $1000 from my account.

I have been helping my dad with his affairs and he wanted me to change banks to SouthState. So glad I didn’t. Every little thing has been a hassle. Now to move dads accounts! Horrible!

I have been banking with this bank for almost 10 years and have not had any problems.I would recommend this bank if asked.Very professional and courteous. Always helpful when I call.
