Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Kesha, who was not only super sweet but went out of her way to make sure my experience using Midgard Self Storage will never be forgotten. Thank you Kesha for caring about your customers!!

Do NOT get a unit here! We have had a unit here for less than a year and they have raised our rent twice already it’s DOUBLE what we signed up for. Midgard has purchased ALL of the facilities in the area and have a monopoly so they now apparently feel emboldened to price gouge! They have eliminated all of the competition so they can charge whatever they would like! I am disgusted and we will be selling everything we have in our unit and getting rid of it immediately! The people that work at this location are great and it’s a clean facility but the company is criminal!

We specifically asked if we would have 24/7 access BEFORE getting this unit, we were told YES. We went last night after 10pm (which is the only time I can go, hence the 24/7)& was denied access thru the gate. Unit is pd,chkd website there's NOW an "*" beside the 24/7 and says "for additional fees".. WHAT!? We already pay more than a lot & the ONE THING WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED, & WAS THE DECIDING FACTOR, WE NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO OR WE HAVE TO PAY EVEN MORE NOW!?NO NOTICE OF THIS,NOT TEXT,NOT EMAIL..though ppl who already had this option s/b grandfathered in & not have to pay add.fees.We DRoVE 2HRS FROM ROYSTEN TO GVILLE AFTER WORKING ALL DAY, BORROWING A TRUCK FROM SOMEONE TO HAUL MY STUFF BACK TO ROYSTON, WASTING MONEY ON GAS FOR SAID TRUCK, & BEING EXHAUSTED AT MIDNIGHT-ISH TO BE "ACCESS DENIED SEE MANAGER"!?!? AFTER ALREADY TRIPLE CHECKING TO MAKE SURE IT WAS THE UNIT I PAID THIS MOS & NOT SOMETHING ELSE,IM MORE THAN UPSET & WANT A PRO-RATED MONTHLY adjustment!!!AS I DONT Have access 24/7 like I stated I needed, & expected, & had no warning, or choice, in the matter. Wasted my time, my GAS, my energy, & for NOTHING! WE WILL DEF BE MOVING ELSEWHERE, SUGGEST YALL KEEP LOOKING AS WELL. Bc they get you on all sorts of little fees when you first sign up... $75 became $100+ the first month & it's now 87-89 after fees monthly &:it's not even a big unit!

I had an issue with my unit due to an unforseen situation, and Miss Donna was the ONLY one able to rectify it and offer me a viable solution. She was diligent and professional, turning a tough situation around! She made me feel valued as a tenant and took care of my concern with urgency.

The facility itself is very clean and the units are well kept and dry. Having said that, I was more than a little angry when I drove a full moving truck 2 1/2 hours to get there only to find out the "24 hour coded access" they have plastered all over every advert is an additional $10 a month and not something they are very up front about when getting a unit. I was very much not happy to have to turn around and take a full moving truck load back another 2 1/2 hours in the middle of the night.

Price increased was three times original contract agreement, notice came from another random email not Midgard like all the other communications, Not to mention you need a 30 day notice to vacate and there’s no prorating the month so if you’re not out before the first you’re paying full price for the whole month. There are much better options out there.

Our price on three units just doubled per unit. I could see raising it 5,10,15, or even $20 but $109 per unit. That's just crazy. When I moved in two months, UPS was somehow renting the unit next to my 3 units but of course, I didn't know until after I started moving. At first, I thought a large family or someone with a lot of friends was moving out. At least 6 different cars. The next day people started showing up again, and then a UPS truck. MIDGARD allowed UPS to run packages out of the unit to part-time delivery drivers with personal cars. That was awesome dealing with cars parked in front of my three units every day coming and going while trying to move a house and a business into 3 units by myself. I couldn't believe MIDGARD would allow this. Every 10 minutes a different car would pull up. 50-100 cars a day. Security risk? Lol UPS was gone at the first of the year after the holidays. Yay, 2024 I just now got my units somewhat sorted and organized from having to throw my stuff into the units because of me being blocked from UPS every day. Now the first of February, I just received an email from MIDGARD telling me "Midgard Self Storage strives to provide the best products/services at affordable rates. After carefully considering increased costs and competitive market data, we have been advised to increase our pricing. This letter is to serve as your thirty (30) day notice for a rental rate change on your unit/space. Effective on March 1, 2024" I was paying $413 for 3 units but now it's $739.50. I have no words. Just sitting here thinking about how I'm going to sell all of my stuff because there's no way I am willing to pay that much. I can drive 2.5 miles from my house to another MIDGARD location for a cheaper price but then again will they just jack the price up after moving in? MIDGARD has brought every storage unit place around and became a monopoly. They have really screwed the market up.

Pricing changes too often

Pay attention to the reviews! Old reviews are great. New reviews, every time they get 1 star two more people give them 5 stars. They HAVE to be soliciting positive reviews.
I do not recommend this storage facility. The ONLY reason I do not move my stuff is because I am not in the United States of America. I’ve even considered saying screw it and losing my stuff, but it is relatively expensive (considering I use to own a store).
Pricing:
July 2023 $100
November 2023 $140
April 2024 $195
The percentage increase from $100 to $195 is 95%. As for the time from July to April, it spans 9 months.
I drove out of my old neighborhood to find this place because it was listed cheaper but I should’ve stayed put. They trick you by offering $0 first month and $100/mo on the website. I’ve attached documentation. Right now they say they can raise pricing with 30 day notice.
In addition, last night I go online to make my payment. My account is locked. This morning I call as they open and i am already charged a $30 late fee. I cannot prove it but they are doing this on purpose.
This is an abuse of power.

I’ve been storing here since June. In August my rent went up $20. I just received an email it’s going up another $50 April 1st, for a total of $70 in under a year. At a time when people are already having a hard time. The same unit for move in is $100 and I’m paying $195/mo starting April 1 even though I moved in at a rate of $115/mo. Please DO NOT MOVE YOUR THINGS HERE. Customer service offers NO SUPPORT whatsoever.

We had a slight mix up since there are two locations very near each other. I thought I rented at one and had actually rented at the other. The staff was so helpful in getting it sorted out for us. We moved into our new unit and it is so clean and brightly lit. Much better than our old space we had in another town (with a different company.) The on site managers were very helpful and kind too.

Ever since Midguard took over North Lanier Storage place it has been poor customer service. I have dealt with From rude customer service representatives to not being told that they want a 30 day notice of vacancy. Unfortunately I never read the new contract. They want payment for a unit I no longer have items in! Yet on Monday there was a lock on the unit. I no longer have access to the unit but they want payment and have already rented it out. They charge $306 and I found climate control for $103 some place else! So, please make sure you READ your contract! Their prices are high their customer service sucks. With rents extremely high along with everything else having to dish out money for something you are no longer using is excessive. I would NEVER recommend them not even to my worst enemy
