Cannot say enough great things about the team at Alair Homes. long, deep experience in transforming spaces that, in a previous iteration, turned the basement of my 100-year-old Midtown home into a showpiece and accidental art studio. Back in 2019, Alair Homes Decatur did a complete renovation of the main floor of our three story house which included the kitchen, laundry room, the great room, the sitting room, the dining room, the foyer, and the powder room. The Alair team was fantastic to work from start to finish and in all respects. The design that their design team came up with was superb and quite stunning. It matched our personalities and lifestyle to a T. We absolutely love it. As far as budget, Alair accurately projected a full cost budget at the very beginning of the process and stuck with it throughout the project. There were no surprises or unexpected costs. As far as the 5 month construction process, it went quite smoothly with very few speed bumps even though the renovation was so extensive that it required the removal of four major structural walls and the installation of 4 structural beams along with supporting columns. The Alair team was incredibly responsive and proactive throughout the process. We were so pleased with the process and the result that we recently embarked on a second large scale renovation project with them that includes our bathrooms and home office. I would highly recommend Alair Homes Decatur to anyone considering a major renovation of your home.Services: Home addition construction

We've worked with Alair on two projects on our 80-year-old Morningside home. The first was a significant modification that turned a cramped finished attic hallway space into an open, usable family room. The second project was a significant rebuild/repair just a few weeks later when a windstorm knocked a massive tree onto another part of the house. In both projects, we were thrilled with the responsiveness and attention that our project managers and the supporting crew (the Alair staff and the trades that Alair works with) gave to our project. One of our biggest challenges on home renovation projects has been coordinating with trades. Alair Homes Decatur has an excellent working relationship with highly competent and reliable trade partners. We specifically had extensive framing, masonry, and electrical needs in our projects, sometimes requiring frequent tweaks in scope to keep the project going in light of site conditions and discoveries. These trades and their crews are top-notch. They have high standards, are very reliable, and work well with each other, the Alair staff, and us as homeowners to find ways to solve the inevitable problems that arise in renovation and rebuilding projects on older homes.Services: Roof installation

Though we ultimately decided not to pull the trigger on constructing an addition to our home, the team at Alair was very professional, responsive, and honest throughout the process. We worked with them to talk about options for our addition and they were able to deliver several architectural renderings to help us visualize what our addition could look like. They provided us with a detailed breakdown of the expected costs and timeline-- all information that was helpful for us to make our final decision. We'll definitely keep them in mind if we revisit an addition in the future.

Alair was excellent and super professional. We loved working with them. They did structural work to our house and when various unexpected things popped we had enough in the contingency that they planned for so that it was merely a bump in the road. We hired Alair Homes Decatur for our downstairs renovation project. From our first interaction, we were impressed. They are experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to City of Atlanta permitting. We wanted to hire a design build company for many reasons, and they did a wonderful job. The designer that worked on out project listened to exactly what we wanted and she designed a space that we absolutely love. We had to move out of our home during the renovation and had signed a 6 month lease. Alair finished the project on time, and on budget! They are not cheap, but you really get what you pay for. We would definitely recommend them and hire them for another project!Services: Bathroom remodeling

We did an extensive addition and remodel with Alair. They were wonderful to work with. They listened to our input, gave us a reasonable time estimate and sound advice, and kept us updated along the way. Similar to at least one reviewer that I saw here I was in contact with this company I was told I should get a survey they recommended a company for which I could seek the survey I paid $1500 for the survey and then came back to a Alair to let them know that I had this survey (per their instructions ) and they have ghosted me after multiple times trying to reach Heather.

I had contacted Renewal because I was interested in getting a proposal for an addition to my existing home located in an historic district. Had an appointment for a consult on Feb. 11. Was contacted the morning of to reschedule. Things come up so I understand. Had the consult on Feb. 23rd. Received email saying I would have feedback by Mar 11. Called the person for update left a vmail and proceeded to follow up via email (replying to a previously received email from said person when scheduling the appointment) on 4/5 and 4/11. Actually called the office to if the person still worked there. After confirming my contact details (again), the office manager said they would be back in contact. Still no word. Just sharing my experience.

Alair did an INCREDIBLE job remodeling our basement and screened-in porch. They were 100% professional, prompt and always ensured we were completely satisfied. It was a delight to work with their team and we would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. While their costs might be higher than other quotes, the quality matched the price and there were no unexpected charges - they were always transparent, and hearing other neighbor's experiences, a low initial quote doesn't necessarily translate into lower overall costs as other contractors often increase the costs as you go with unexpected changes. I have been working with Alair Homes Decatur for over 2 years now. Their entire team, from the owners to their subs, are extremely professional and masters of their craft. We have done projects from very small to complete full-gut renovations, and they give top notch service and beautiful results. The icing on the cake for them, are their amazing designers. They are truly what set Alair Homes Decatur apart from the rest. They are organized, they are thorough, and they are ALL delightful to work with.

We love our renovated home! In 6 months they transformed our small 2 bed 1 bath to an airy open 4 bed/3 bath home. Great quality materials and we have been pleased with the contractors they used for finishing touches. I never want to leave the master bedroom/bathroom; they incorporated all the "must haves" on my list without going over budget or working to see what we could trade out to make it fit in the budget. They made a house a forever home and I am excited to make memories here.
