One thing's for sure this is a hidden treasure in Cleveland Georgia. They have a great selection of hiking apparel camping equipment as well as high in clothing. The staff is knowledgeable friendly and answered our questions. We will definitely be back and we've told family about this place too.

Nice selection of Quality footwear and clothing in a old building on the square in Cleveland Ga. makes this a fun place to visit. You may just find a pair of socks you would like to take home.

If you are looking for an outfitter, you will be surprised to find such a great selection in a small town as you will find at Smoky Mountain Trader. One employee--Aubree--is a soft spoken big bear of a man with a world of outdoor experience. If you were dropped into the store from from outer space (or Atlanta), and suddenly decided to hike to the top of Mt. Yonah (or one of the many other scenic hikes around), no doubt he would give you great advice and have the gear that would get you there and back. Clothes, hiking poles, backpacks, socks, hiking boots and shoes, bear spray, compass, maps, knives, and pretty much everything you need for your expedition from scratch. I highly recommend that you stop by on your way to your next hike. You won't be disppointed.(Except firearms. If you need a firearm for your personal protection, you could hit up my friends at Gun Commanders who have a surprisingly large inventory of their wares.)

If you’re in Cleveland GA. stop in and see these guys. I have been looking for the perfect pair of hiking shoes . Been looking for months. Walked in told the guy what I was looking for and he said try these. First pair he picked out was perfect. They have a nice selection to choose from.

I wish I knew for certain the name of the gentleman who helped my family yesterday with shoes. I'm not sure if he was Aubrey or Daubrey, or maybe even something else. He was so unbelievably kind with my daughter and I, and extremely knowledgeable about foot anatomy, shoe sizing, how construction impacts gait, and recommending the right shoe for my adventures. He had the opportunity to have steered me to a more expensive pair, but much to my delight the best fitting and feeling one he'd recommended was not at the highest end. While I was making my decision, I got to watch him help some other hikers and then a couple of friends bringing their lively but sweet big dog in to get fitted for a harness. He was professional and gentle when trying to get a measurement of the happy puppy's chest. I would highly recommend stopping into this store. I haven't even mentioned their selection of supplies yet, but suffice it to say, it was good. The service was over the top!

Pick up some shoes for my wife.Also some elk jerky.And a eye glasses cord holder. The service and attention was fantastic.The store was amazing upstairs and the main floor area.would highly recommend this place for your hiking and camping needs.

Wow! What an experience.My partner and I stopped by Smoky Mountain Trader for the first time on our way back home from hiking Raven Cliff Falls, as I needed a new pair of hiking shoes.The store is beautiful and well-stocked with high-quality brands, and we received a warm welcome upon entering. One of the employees (Daubrey) went above and beyond in helping me find the shoes that are right for me. Daubrey was very patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and kind. It’s this type of service that is a lost art in this age of large corporate chains. Even though I live in Alpharetta, I will make the drive up whenever I need quality hiking gear and stellar service. I would rather support this store than give my business to larger competitors. Thank you.

The gentleman whom works the register here is an Angel to the outdoor community. Every time I've visited he has been more than helpful. Today he helped me fit my unusually large 90L pack. I appreciate his knowledge, know how, and expertise. Thank you so much and I highly recommend any and everyone visit this outfitter.
