Very happy with Mars Hill Animal Hospital! Excellent staff and Vets! Staff is always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure my four-legged family member is taken care of! Easy access to facility. The grounds are always well kept and clean! I highly recommend MHA for your four-legged family member's care

I've been taking my animals to Mars Hill Animal Hospital for years because they care so much about the animals and their owners. The vets are extremely competent and professional, yet very personable and down-to-earth as well. The staff is friendly and helpful in so many ways. Once I found MHAH I quit looking for any other place to take my animals either for routine care or when they were ill. The folks at MHAH are the very best in my opinion.

I would like to start by saying the facility itself is wonderful, the office staff is great and friendly however the groomer that they have in with them is very rude, unkind & not friendly. If you don’t do exactly what she recommends she becomes aggressive in conversation and belittles you. The front office staff witnessed the conversation and started to apologize profusely. Mid conversation she states “well, i just was telling you I did this to help your dog since you wouldn’t” and walked away. When I was initially contacted about some “suspicion” of a rash I had declined because I used a new dog soap recently but when I came in to pick her up it was a different tune and she had open wounds etc which I DID have her seen for at the office as soon as they explained it better. I don’t mind paying for my animals vet bills at all but I do care about the service I receive and the basic human decency in a conversation. I have seen multiple reviews about the same issue with this particular groomer but chalked it up to someone just being sensitive. However, I am not and this lady had me in tears at the office with my two children and we will NOT be returning to this office again after that interaction.

The staff at MHAH are amazing, kind and professional with both humans and fur babies. Tiffani has been wonderful and patient when my older chihuahua got sick. She takes her time to answer questions and made me feel comfortable even when I had to leave him overnight. There are many vet offices closer to my home but I’ll make the drive to Mars Hill every time.

I absolutely cannot recommend Mars Hill Animal Hospital more! The facility is all around clean, inviting & they obviously care about your animals!
We saw them when we had issues with our sweet pitbull mix last year. She was nearing the end of her life and the doctors were so comforting but also gave us hard information that we needed to hear. It was a great experience considering it was such a sad and difficult time.
We just took our new puppy Zeus to get his initial consultation here. The front desk staff (specifically Rosa) was so kind and got us scheduled so quickly! We saw Dr. Gross and he was one of the best vets we have ever seen. He was incredibly informative and very reassuring with all the concerns we had. We didn’t feel pressured to do anything we were uncomfortable with and actually left feeling very empowered to help support our new puppy!
Overall, I cannot recommend this clinic more! 10/10 best in Athens!

Update— We did the drop off suggestion one time and he stayed in a kennel for 7 hours waiting to be worked in and barked so long that his trachea was damaged.The shot is a 1 minute procedure, and they already have the ear med prescription that can be handed to me over the counter. I saw Dr Wellman left, so I guess this is their new MO for their Sr pets (15 Year old.)
Our pup Max has been a patient here for 12 YEARS. Due to family emergency, he missed his allergy shot this month and has developed an ear infection. They can’t schedule him until Thursday for the quick (1 minute) shot and won’t refill the ear prescription that they have for him until seeing him.So sad of them to hold his meds for 4 days when he’s suffering… I guess this is the new practice since our favorite vet, Dr Wellman left in March.
