As far as making the purchase process easy Salton Motor Cars is good. I came looking at the 2008 Toyota Solara Convertible since I was interested in it at the time.
The owner responds quickly and is very liberal with test drives. I was able to get a very good feel with the car the day I took it to inspection (drove it 30 minutes out since he had forgotten I planned for that day). The only downside was that the inspection revealed details about the car such as its need for big upcoming maintenance jobs which wasnt very obvious to me as a first time used car buyer.
The car was old though so I expected it would need some work. The reason for the 4 star however is that despite having “passed emissions” the car was still running codes for emissions related issues, which I discovered from the check engine light popping on during my drive back. I didnt see this light the first time I drove the car, meaning he cleared the code both times to hide the issue, which was pretty dishonest.
Be sure to stay on your guard with any purchase here, the service is good but it is still a used car dealership, so please take your planned purchase to a mechanic you trust for inspection!

2 months in their was a Hesitation in changing gears so took truck in for diagnostic check at AMCO transmissions, the report shows electrical problems and transmission problems, he said the dealer had to know already what was wrong prior to selling Went back to salton motors and ask if I could change for a different car on lot he said yes but I would loose money from 1st car I paid 11,000 for the car, and it will cost about that much to fix, transmission do not pull at all now. salton owner brag how well the car was kept up with history records, that why he bought it out of Florida ..Beware!!!

Not worth coming to this place. A father and a son that act very agresive and rude . They also tried lying about a car that clearly had major body work done to it . I highly suggest you pass on this place .

I had been trying to find a nice used Toyota Tacoma online . Time after time they would they had just sold.Salton Motors was willing to hold the truck till I was able to get there days later. The transaction was easy and no pressure. I'm still happy several months later.

Wonderful folks! In an industry plagued with issues, Jeff and Cole are very honest about their vehicles. I searched two states and visited several dealers. The car I got was exactly as described and at a very fair price. I would not hesitate to do business again with them.

The downright worst car buying experience of my life. Went to look at a 2012 red Xrunner Tacoma. The listing failed to mention some light damage, flashing tire light, major oil leak, missing trim pieces etc. I still went on a test drive. For some reason the dealerships detailer is who accompanied me on the test drive, and spent the whole time on the phone with friend talking about his day. After my test drive I brought up my concerns and additionally a 100,000 mile gap in the car fax. I asked verbatim "can we talk about the price?" The "salesman" promptly grabbed the keys from me and said "nah I'm good" and just left us standing in the parking lot. I completely understand being firm on price, but this was the most rude approach possible after an already unprofessional experience. I had no intentions of "low balling" the car. I would not recommend buying from here
