The owner here is fantastic I did not get his name but he definitely made me feel special. He was the only one in the store at the time so he did have to bounce around a bit but i understand as a young growing entrepreneur you have to get it the best way. He apologized numerous times but as i told him no apologizes needed for me. I got my eyebrows waxed and lashes and baby they were BOMB!

Some stores are closed, could be cleaner. Did appreciate the Christmas decorations and options the few stores left opened had to offer.

It's not the best mall. There aren't that many stores in there that I shop at. I mainly go for Books A Million and if I REALLY need something from one of the department stores.

As a fan of malls I recommend seeing this mall. Like visiting the skeleton of a whale you wander the bones of this mall seeing the outlines and details of what was once a beautiful mall. There are little train tracks that run along the ceiling, twenty years ago I'm sure it brought attention from young kids. The architecture is in many spots beautiful, built to be a home away from home for the people who visited it.But what still lives here are ghosts, no store felt right. Zombie stores and as you walk the halls you can't help but see there are only zombies wandering the halls with no store they plan to enter.Fascinating place. Truly.

the mall and staff were nice and whatever, but there wasn’t really any shops so we were heading out of the store to leave when we saw puppies in “ Pets & Pals “ , We (me and my family)didn’t expect the store to be gorgeous or anything , but what we did expect was the pets to be cared for , but let me tell you , i have never seen a pet store THAT horrible, let me give you a semi-detailed introduction. the entrance of the store had an iguana in the front window on display, personally i have no idea what an iguana enclosure should look like , nor what a healthy iguana should look like , however i know for a FACT they did something to that poor baby, the holes in the enclosure were big enough for the iguana to get out easily , but it didn’t move at all , it looked sick . Now giving this the benefit of the doubt (bad choice) we proceeded into the store to look at the puppies , they looked fine but they were expensive so we walked past (we had no intention of buying anything) I, a cat lover , saw 5 kittens (mind you in a FERRET cage), these poor kittens looked so sick , they literally had red eyes , and a whole load of stuff projecting out of their nose , ( pics of the kittens below ) , all of the enclosures had old , and shredded news paper in it , the Guinea pigs literally did not make a peep , and as an ex Guinea pig owner , if they see people they squeal like never before , but these ? Nothing . Oh and that’s not even it , every single beta fish in that store was dead ( visibly ), there were rabbits that didn’t look healthy but had a reasonably sized cage ( surprisingly); and there was also 2 baby goats in an Amazon sized box ( 20 square feet ) which really is not very spacious , and the baby goats were hitting the walls and even each other , this store is absolutely horrible .

I visited Books A Million. The rating is based solely on the interaction I experienced with the manager on duty at the time. He was not very friendly at all. He acted as though he was being inconvenienced when asked a question. He really lacks customer service skills.

"I remember when the Albany Mall was started. We have heard sad stories of big names closing and financial challenges brought about by Hurricane Michael, COVID-19, the Internet, and Fashion's Whims.I asked my wife of 22 years to marry me outside of Chucky Cheese and bought her engagement ring a Shiren's Jewelers in 2001. They are still there. Many things have changed, but there are still great vendors, good food, and lots of good food, and real folks to shop with in a safe, secure environment....at least in daylight....cuz that's when we shop.If you once did, or just accepted the rumors of hard times. I would Challenge you to give it another try. I believe it will be worth your time... Still. It was for us."

I haven't been to Albany since covid happened. The was still bustling with shoppers and walkers alike. We were there for a birthday party and Chuck e cheese and had walked down to old navy to look for school clothes. Kids loved the vr game and throwing pennies in the fountain.

Loosing so many stores. How about trying an adult arcade. Or a nice buffet restaurant. Something new.

Well, I was at the Albany Mall today, 6/6/2023, & I must say that the mall has hit an all time LOW. I was shocked to see what appeared to be a homeless person and a small child actually "camped out", in the corridor, next to where Sears was once located. She literally had a what appeared to be a bed pallet, several blankets, bed pillows, food, and entertainment for the child who appeared to be less than 2 years old. And she had a perimeter set up so that folks would not get to close!!!! I was appalled that management (if there is any there), allows this sort of activity, where folks come to shop. I was actually out there for the sole purpose of "mall walking", and the temperature in the mall was hot!!!! With even more vacant stores!!!!! What prominent store/business would want to set up shop in such a declined, run-down place???? It is sad, sad, sad......

The Albany Mall features an abhorrent pet store that goes by the name of ‘Pets ‘n Pals’. This location among other atrocities, advertises mini piglets for $300 that are weeks underaged and very obviously malnourished and in need of their mother. To call this store and the Albany Mall as a whole irresponsible would be a gross understatement. It is absolutely mindboggling to me that local authorities have not taken swift action against this establishment.
