As an agnostic, attending church services is not something I typically do, but I recently joined a friend for a visit to the First Congregational Church of Wilton Manors. I found the experience unexpectedly positive and welcoming.
From the moment I arrived, the friendly atmosphere was evident. The congregation greeted me warmly, making me feel comfortable despite being an unfamiliar face. The service was engaging, with messages focusing on themes like love, kindness, and community. These universal values resonated with me and felt relevant regardless of religious beliefs.
What impressed me most was the church’s dedication to community service and social justice. They seem actively involved in various outreach programs, supporting those in need within the local area. This commitment to making a positive impact aligns with values that I hold dear, even as someone who doesn’t follow a particular faith.
Overall, my visit to the First Congregational Church of Wilton Manors was a pleasant and thought-provoking experience. If you are looking for a welcoming community that values inclusivity, compassion, and making a positive difference, this church is definitely worth a visit. Whether you are religious or simply appreciate a strong sense of community, you’ll find a supportive and friendly environment here.

This is a traditional & deep rooted church family. I was a member for nearly 40 years, until I moved away. Dr John speaks right to your heart! He preaches with compassion & love directly from the Bible. He is always there for his community & members. This church may be small, but it is mighty! This is not a mile wide church with shallow roots; this church staff & members live by the Bible, with no judgement. If a member falls sick or in need, the church family is there for them. It always amazed me how much this small church does for the community with painting houses, feeding the hungry, helping others, the incredible amount of work on Operation Christmas Child & more!!! The numbers they help is staggering to the number of members. No where else will you find the body of Christ working through a church. This is the kind of church you want to be at, because you can feel yourself wanting change to follow Jesus & be more like Christ. This is not a large, mega church that feels like a concert hall. It is a true traditional church, with communion every week, classes to help you grow, sermons that touch your heart, groups for all ages & likes, a church family. I just can’t say enough! I will always love this church & my family at First Christian Church!!!

Great work being done here for the cause of the cross- main focus is the King James Bible study and open exchange on education- seems at face: a bit liberal on many biblical and social views. however, the group is very much engaged in the local community and the common good.
