I came in today with bad pain in my heel my heel, due to planters fasciitis! Althea spent quality time with me! One foot had supination and the other foot had a collapsed arch. No podiatrist or other shoe stores have ever told me this!!! Althea fit me, with the correct sneakers and the correct orthotics! If fact as soon as I started walking around the store, my heel pain was gone! Just like that! I was so happy I gave Althea a hug! I'm so glad, I went to this store! I would highly recommend this place For anyone who is experiencing foot problems! And I will a returning customer For the rest of my life! Mary

I have had orthotics from several specialty offices,who makes them professionally. I always had to go back and get them adjusted several times just to continue spine and foot pain. My spouse found Powell shoes and thought we should go in for an appointment. We were fitted for shoes and I was able to get my orthotics made. We picked up our shoes and my orthotics. I have never in 9 years been able be fitted and leave with my orthotics and never have to go back for adjustments. We went back to purchase more shoes. The owner is very very professional and kind as is her employee. I will continue to go back for orthotics and shoes. I am blessed to have found this store and to have had such good care. We are thankful!

My podiatrist referred me to Powell Shoes as I had multiple issues with my feet that were causing me to have intense pain. Within a week I had my new shoes with orthotics and a lift on one shoe. I am now pain free and even my podiatrist commented on the excellent job they did in building my orthotics. I highly recommend Powell Shoes for anyone having issues or needing modifications to their shoes. My only regret is not having found them earlier!

This specialized store owner provides excellent service,. She has in-depth knowledge, which is shared in layman's terms, so that you have a complete understanding of what the custom made orthotic is going to do for you. It is ordered by your podiatrist,who is in close contact her and she has you return for any final adjustments you might need. Mine were perfect! They helped my feet,knees and hips aligning everything correctly. We are lucky to have such a fine craftswoman who is able to help those who need to find a non drug way out of foot pain. Went to Althea who seemed nice and helpful. She was not able to make wearable shoes for me, she wouldn't do what I asked or needed. I gave her three pairs of shoes she was going to measure and modify, she never called me to measure and made modifications that I couldn't wear and ruined the shoes I gave her. She made a shoe pair through the VA and they were like lead diving boots that hurt my feet and couldn't wear them. She must have made over $1200 dollars on my foot and never really made a pair that felt right because she refused to carefully fit and do what I asked. I gave her 3 sneaker pairs that she ruined and then had her assistant tell me she didn't want to fix my shoes, apparently she ran out of talent. She also seemed to go through assistants very quickly in her store, all white girls. I had the feeling she didn't like white people or veterans. There are lots of white people I don't like and I am a white veteran who has never been a prejudiced person. Something isn't right there but it was time to move on. I have been to a local podiatrist to fix a broken metatarsal bone in my foot I believe was over pressured and weakened by the wrong angle of shoes she made. I have had to wear a boot for several weeks now. I am confident the doctor I see now will send me to a competent pedorthist he uses when the boot is off. Althea will sell you her expensive socks and sandals but I would beware of her ability and talent as a "pedorthist". I have experienced good and bad people in the medical field and I question her credentials. Buyer beware.

If you have hard to fit feet this the place to go. Firstly, the service is excellent, the shoes are top notch and the prices are comparable. They go the extra mile to be sure your shoes fit and that you are happy. I recommend the store highly.
