I wanted to look at a wallet that was in the counter. The sales lady took it out and held it close as if I was going to steal it. The wallet was in the upwards of 150.00 + I was going to buy it and a pair of 70 dollar sandals. The way she acted about the wallet made me walk out. My lose and her lose and I feel for judging a book cover. The wallets they had were unique but not worth a bad feeling buying from someone like that.

Wow- the selection of jewelry and gifts was incredible in this shop! Drawn in by the window displays, my daughter was hoping for barefoot sandals. Once inside I quickly told her if she sees ANYTHING she wants for her wedding jewelry to please tell me. There was plenty she loved, but nothing she wanted to settle on- I think it was literally too many beautiful choices. I was eyeballing pieces for myself! That's just the jewelry room- go through a large open doorway and you hit wind-chimes- if I have never mentioned it, I ALWAYS have to ring all of them.... at every store they are in..... every single time. Woodstock is one of the best wind-chime makers, and that is what is sold here. As I am passing by making music with my fingertips- I am also taking in all the other displays. Shoes, home decor gifts, handbags and wallets. So many interesting little treasures all in one store!

Last summer, our family spent an afternoon in Tarpon Springs and came upon this store. Elina, my then 12 year old, fell in love with a ring. She wanted to buy it but decided that she really wanted to spend her $ buying our family breakfast one morning. Concerned that she wouldn’t have enough for both she left the ring. Well she has been thinking about it ever since. In April we made a trip back, and the store was out of that particular ring. But we asked the owner about it. She said she would have them again though in the future and she measured E’s finger for a ring size. Today we went back and we saw the owner again, who graciously shared that she ordered the ring and held it for Elina not letting anyone look at it or try it on. It was in a little box waiting for E. Elina opened her purse and I anticipate that ring won’t be taken off soon. I’m so impressed that the store owner was so kind and took care of my girl. People like this make my heart smile. If you find yourself in Tarpon Springs, please check out The Gem of the Docks! They are good people!

My kitchen and diningroom are "sparkling" with the tropical ocean-blue table placemats & sideboard runners that 'GEM...' had! And - as lovely as the pattern (at ends of runner & placemats) is - it IS unique enough that friends have asked, "where did you find those?" I didn't leave the store, though, until I'd found something to "dress up" my feet as well. ... A beautiful pair of floral & turquoise L'Artiste sandals - not the type of sandals I usually find around home - and yes, I'm getting compliments on those too! Next trip/vacation over = Larimar jewelry. (Yep - blues are my favorite colors!)

My husband posted his review of our experience here, I wanted to share mine as well. We have been visiting Tarpon Springs for almost 20 years and I can honestly say this was my first bad experience. We stopped at blu specifically to look at their larimar selection. I own several pieces and my husband was looking for gift ideas. I pointed out a bracelet I really liked and continued looking around the store. I found 2 little mermaid bracelets for my daughter and I. I went to the counter to pay. The lady behind the counter was preoccupied with pricing or cleaning something. Her partner was going around the store singing to himself, looking at his merchandise. Both pointedly ignored me. An older lady entered the store and the owners found their voices, still ignoring me. Understand there were 2 associates, 2 registers, and only 2 customers. Still they ignored me. So I left. I am an ESE (Special Needs) teacher. My husband is a writer and newspaper editor. I have more than ten years of retail and merchandising experience. Small purchases are the backbone of your business and should not be taken for granted. Shame on you both for your lack of manners.

We visited this gift boutique on a Saturday afternoon because we noticed they sold MarahLago Larimar jewelry. They had a nice selection and, although I didn't intend to purchase anything that day, I did plan to return at a later date and buy something for my wife. Before leaving, my wife and daughter found two inexpensive bracelets and decided to buy them. During our visit, the owners never welcomed us or even acknowledged our presence. When my wife went to the counter to pay for the bracelets, both owners ignored her completely to assist another customer - one who arrived after us and who didn't ask for help until after my wife was standing at the counter. My guess: The owners thought the other customer - who was a good 20 years older than us - was planning on spending more money. My wife put the two bracelets back and we walked out, disgusted. Needless to say, I won't be returning for any jewelry.
