A couple of weeks ago, I went to Take 5 to get my car’s oil changed. Fast forward about 2 weeks or so, my car started running rough, jumping, and the check engine light came on. I ended up taking it to my mechanic, and they found out that the VVT (Variable Valve Timing) needed to be replaced.
After replacing the VVT, my car was still having issues. So, my mechanic started asking questions about the oil and when it was last changed. I mentioned that Take 5 had changed it recently. Turns out, you put the wrong oil weight in my car, and it was actually damaging the engine. My mechanic had to completely change the oil and filter to fix what Take 5 messed up.
I picked up my car on Friday, September 13th, and thankfully, it’s been running fine since. But seriously, if my mechanic hadn’t caught this early, Take 5 could have done some real, lasting damage to my car.
I will be sending a certified letter to corporate to request Take 5 to compensate me for all the repairs, labor, and supplies I had to pay for because of their mistake. Not hopeful that you will compensate me for their mistake, but at least you will be aware of this screwup.
With all this being said, I will never let any Take 5 locations touch my car ever again.

Jason the shop manager was so sweet and Neek did a great job helping me out! They even gave me free cold water when I pulled up. My husband and I got in and out without very much of a wait at all. They’re great!
