In years past I would have recommended this shop for repairs. Brought my truck in for transmission repair/overhaul in 11/2017, 6/2021, 5/2023, 7/2023 and again 10/2023. All for the same issue and we had to pay for the first 3. Went today to inquire about my truck and the shop was closed up with people waiting outside to get their vehicle. Finally, someone opened up the shop and said my truck was ready last week!?!?! Not one single phone call was made to let us know. This place has gone downhill and I'm not sure if it's where they choose to buy parts or who they hire. Zero stars if it was possible.

I did not get to bring my car in, however, i called and spoked with them over the phone, and must i say one of the most informal, helpful, and needed conversations to be had to not only ease my stress about the worries of my vehicle and the issues with it but also they provided me proper steps to take. I was never rushed at no time when recalling the history and events that took place with my Lincoln. Thank you guys for the time you spared me.

They do good work but they are very overwhelmed. A 2 week job turned into 5 weeks.. No complaints about quality of the work. Just be prepared to be patient and know that estimated time frames won't be realistic.

They do good work from what I heard, but parts and equipment was stolen out of my car, and that’s not a good look on the business so I advise nobody to deal with them if u don’t want the same to happen to you.

What an amazing group of people work at American Transmission at 420 Nina Rd Tallahassee.Jamie and Garrett the owner just fixed my transaction and took their time to do it right and was very fair with their pricing.Didn't over charge me in fact was much more competitive cost conscious that the other shops when I checked around.Thanks you guys for being honest and a breath of fresh air to deal with.You made my day.

They do real good on reman transmissions. They work right and stand up well. My only complaint is customer service. Person failed to call me with a quote! I rebuilt it myself. I buy their transmissions so I don't have to build them myself. Dropping the ball cost them that job!

My durango has been down for 2 months. I knew my transmission went out so I had been trying to save up to get it fixed. Between covid, trying to play catch up with bills and going through a rough break up, I am struggling all the way around. My boss told me to call Jamie and talk to him. Not only did Jamie give me a wonderful price, wait at the shop til almost 8pm last night for me to get my truck over there, he also called me before 10am with a diagnosis and time frame. I'm absolutely floored with the turn around time he gave me that I started bawling on the phone with him (sorry Jamie). I don't have my truck back as of right this minute, (I will very soon) but regardless, this man and this company are the ones YOU NEED to come and see for any of your needs!! Thanks American Transmission & Jamie for turning what has been the worst few months and days into the most happiest tears I've had in a long time.Service: Transmission
