When my accountant left me high and dry, Sophia took over both my business and personal accounting. Not only did she help me figure out what I was missing, but she also called the IRS and took care of the situation. I feel very lucky to have found Sophia at Miles & Thirion.

Terrible service at a premium price. Waiting to the last minute to submit returns 2 years in a row and now I have to pay the penalty and fees because they were not submitted in time.

Terrible service and poor communication at a premium price! They waited to the last minute to submit returns until the last minute 2 years in a row and now I have to pay the late fees and penalties.

Kelly and the staff at Miles & Thirion are professional, experienced and have handled all of our tax needs both professionally and personally. They have always done a complete and thorough job during the tax process and through out the year. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and we have enjoyed a great relationship with them for over 7 years.

just got billed AGAIN, after phone conference with accountants and being assured , "We're all settled up." This accounting firm can't even get their own accounting correct.........

We Did Not have a good experience with Miles & Thirion! They did not get my mom’s return in on time due to office restructuring and they wanted us to pay the late fees. They did not communicate with us at all and I had to keep calling them over and over again. This is not the way to take care of a 92 year old woman who depends on the accountant to file properly. It caused us so much stress that I had to find another accountant immediately.

I have been using Sophia to prepare my corporate and personal taxes for several years. My last accountant was really awful and made a huge mistake that potentially would cost me around 30,000 in taxes and penalties and fees. Sophia was able to negotiate with the IRS on my behalf and they dismissed all of the penalties and interest since it was not my fault. The firm has also saved me tens of thousands for payroll deductions due to Covid that I was unaware of. They have definitely saved me more money than they have cost me even though they are not inexpensive. I highly recommend them and would not switch.

We were with Thiron & Thiron for years. Eric did our home and business taxes. Something must have been going on with him and/or the firm, becasue our last return was a disaster. We had sold our home for over 2 million dollars and kept emailing him asking him what we owed, and he didn't respond. He had to wait until September to do our return, as we were still getting documents from limited partnerships. When he finally finished our return, he casually told us that we owed the IRS over $6K in penalties as we had not paid what was owed prior to April 15. There was no apology and no aknowledgement of this dereliction of duty. We asked that the firm pay the penalty and they refused; they forgave our tax bill and said that was all they were going to do. I had emailed Ms. Thirion and she ignored me. We got an attorney, and lo and behold per his request they submitted what or bill would have been and lo and behold it was pretty much the amount of our penalty. What a coinkidink. Our bill had never been that high in all our previous years of working with them. The new accountant we hired asked why they (Miles and Thirion) didn't write a letter to the IRS asking for forgiveness of the penalty as it is usually granted if you have paid your taxes on time in the past. She did that and we recieved a refund minus interest. Why didn't Eric (or Sandy) offer to do that? It was the least they could have done. People who can't admit that they made a mistake are not professional and cannot be trusted. MIles & Thirion fit that bill.

I was a client for several years. They raised their price for a simple tax return with out telling me. I received a bill for $725!!! That is double what I usually got charged. I will not be going back. Also, I forgot to mention it took 8 months to get my tax return.

Absolutely terrible experience. Was given wrong tax advice and an astonishingly high bill for questionable service. The engagement agreement does not list the hourly rates and when I asked to know how the supposed amount of hours worked on my file were spent I was told it’s not their policy to give their clients an explanation. Then they terminated their services two days before tax return filing deadline.I have since received advice from multiple senior tax lawyers and accountants who confirmed the advice I was given was wrong. Unfortunately Sophia was my accountant and was unresponsive when confronted with the inquiry. I would steer clear from this firm.

Sophia is a true professional who worked on my behalf to clear up my tax situation after living abroad. I feel she and the firm went above and beyond to get results and maximize the value for what I paid for their services. Certainly made it a lot less stressful to deal with what always feels like a big and scary task at the outset.

I have been a client of this company for over 10 years, where they prepared the personal tax return for my household. The person that usually does my return left the company (Donna) and I discovered this when I called to ask a question. Note that they did not contact me to let me know; I had to discover this myself. When I spoke to a person there about the change and commented how I was not happy with finding out this way, she promptly told me she "did not want to discuss that". So she didn't want to discuss their policy of not letting clients know about changing staff? Frustrating. Additionally, she let me know that they now had a $1000 minimum for tax prep fees (regardless of the complexity of the return). When I asked why, she said "it's hard to staff their organization". With policies and responses like this, I can understand why.To anyone that has the misfortune to continue doing business with this firm, I say "good luck".
