Extremely Disappointed After 20 Years of Loyalty
My family and I have been loyal State Farm customers for 20 years. We've held three vehicle policies, three life policies, and a renter's policy. Over the years, we never missed a payment and always trusted State Farm with our insurance needs.
However, recent events have left us feeling disrespected and abandoned. My 20-year-old daughter, who purchased her own State Farm policy in October 2023, filed two claims—one for a windshield and one for an accident. Separately, I filed a windshield claim under our policy in July 2024. These were all legitimate claims on two entirely different policies, but because we live in the same household, State Farm has linked our policies together without our consent. As a result, they have decided not to renew either policy, claiming that there were three claims within a year.
This is unfair and unethical. We did not authorize the connection of our policies, and no single policy reached the three-claim threshold that they’re citing. After two decades of loyalty, we’re being punished for claims made on separate accounts. This kind of treatment is shocking and unacceptable from a company that promotes itself as being "like a good neighbor."
I cannot recommend State Farm anymore after this experience. If this is how they treat long-time customers, I can only imagine what new policyholders might face. Proceed with caution.

Recently made the switch of our Homeowner's Insurance to State Farm, where we already have our 2 cars insured. Brooke Morrison assisted and made the entire process simple and seamless. She was very prompt and thorough. Good to have such great folks to work with there. Thank you Brooke!

4/25 update: the agent rectified the situation by working with underwriting in a timely fashion so I truly appreciate that. Thank you.
Earlier review: When I first went to the office on Feb 23, I found the service to be great. Luke helped me and generated a new policy to match what I had previously. On Feb 28, I received an email from the office and was asked for information the underwriting team had asked about. I provided that promptly and i was told it would be submitted to underwriting and resolve the inquiry. Well, fast forward to April 3, I received a letter in the mail saying my insurance was going to be canceled because I didn’t provide the information requested. For a month and a half no one sent a letter, an email, an app notification or made a phone call saying documentation was needed but all of a sudden a cancelation policy notice shows up? Not sure what the gap is but so far, but I'm unhappy with the handling of my situation. Waiting for a resolution.
