I come here almost every day to complete my school work. I usually eat something from the cafe or buy something most of the time I come. I had never had an issue here up until today. I was sitting in the cafe doing my work. I had my legs resting on a ledge right near my table. To most people, this doesn't seem like a big deal as I am doing nothing wrong. A loud blue-haired woman who works here walked by me and said rudely and condescendingly while giggling "yeah take your legs down." I wouldn't have an issue if she wasn't so snarky and extremely loud talking most of the time. I am not sure why my legs resting on a side ledge near my table would annoy her so much when the tables are constantly dirty from food that they never clean up. Just like the rest of the negative reviews say, the workers here aren't the best. This is Barnes and Noble, not the White House.

I’d like to first say that I’ve gone to this Barnes and noble numerous times before. I love this location more than the one that’s down the street where I live. So it comes as a shock that I have had an uncomfortable interaction like this before.I usually come to this Barnes and noble to buy books, as an avid reader, but once in a while I’ll come to do course work for school. This particular time I came in to do school work and made my way to the cafe to find a seat. An employee noticed me enter the cafe. Sitting down and beginning to pull out my laptop and school stuff I’m IMMEDIATELY, approached by one of the cafe staff. I think they are going to ask me if I need anything or that something is wrong with the table I sat at but instead they promptly tell me “you going to buy something? You can’t use the cafe otherwise.” I’ve never been told this before or approached so suddenly. Again, I had legitimately just sat down when they rushed over to me to tell me this. I politely replied “yes, I will be getting a snack in a moment. Just trying to set up my stuff.” They looked awkwardly at me after that, maybe because they were expecting a different response or surprised I was going to buy something, I always do, and then they wandered off.I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt compelled to this time as I’ve never been approached in such a way that left me feeling like I was neither allowed to be there, nor welcomed. What’s sad is the fact I used to work for a Barnes and noble and could never imagine treating a customer in such a way. It’s baffling and unprofessional. How do you expect customers to keep returning to purchase books or use the cafe if you immediately make them feel as though they are a burden or intruding.I hope management can approach this situation with openness and applies some socially acceptable ways of approaching customers. I understand where they are coming from as Barnes and nobles isn’t a library but you also shouldn’t cause a customer to feel unwelcomed. It isn’t appropriate. I hope they can use this as a learning opportunity.

It is a beautiful store and has a good service. It was hard to find the book I was looking for because they have the books organized by the author's last name and the one I needed was the last one available and was storaged by the first name

It's hard to find an actual bookstore these days, as everything is going digital. My son had a good time walking around in there, and the staff was very helpful in finding the book series he was looking for.

From what I read, Barnes & Noble's business began as far back as 1873 by Charles Barnes that started a book business from his home in Wheaton, Illinois. The bookstore opened their first brick & mortar store on Fifth Avenue at 18th Street in New York City which is today the flagship store. Barnes & Noble grew worldwide with its variety of reading material which included general trade books, academic titles, textbooks, and medical books. As the world turns into the digital age, Barnes & Noble began to upgrade their stores with innovation, contemporary aesthetic with books at the center, grew their food and beverage offerings, and comfortable seating for a friendly customer experience. The Palm Beach Gardens location is large, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The book price values are reasonable, and the other amenities are enjoyable. I am still one of those individuals that love to hold a read a hard cover book. But do not get me wrong, I also read books online.
