We went to the local MetroPCS by TMobile in New Port Richey and discussed the issue with store manager Elvin. He determined the account had been discontinued and spent over an hour with customer care to get that corrected and to take of the $57 charge to reconnect her phone. “Yesterday, we were out on the boat. Unfortunately, my phone was dropped in the ocean (bye-bye). We went to Spectrum to switch service from T-Mobile, since I was forced to by a new phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max). T-Mobile was not easy to work with (how many times must I tell them "my phone is at the bottom of the ocean) in porting over my number. Although there was a line when we arrived, it was quickly and smoothly handled so that no one had to wait for long.
