This school is a piece of work starting from administration sleeping with parents to bullying being over looked and your children being ignored due to favoritism . Additionally the children complain about the bread always being stale and the lunch only being good on Friday "pizza day". The pick up line is a nightmare even if you arrive 30 minutes prior to pick up and are the first person in line officers will make you move essentially making you the last in line because they cannot have cars blocking traffic being a two lane street . Additionally the school does not allocate funding properly for the best interest of your Childrens education if your child is spectrum or has any kind of learning disability this school will straight up fail them rather than using the additional resources "charter schools" have to help your child catch up . Lastly the school is in a very bad neighborhood with a food stop just one building down which has drunk men sitting on the corner publicly drinking beer and smoking out of pipes .

We have been fortunate to have our kids attend SOMI. We have been there since the school first opened. Our two oldest daughters have graduated from SOMI and still look back on their time there fondly. We believe in SOMI’s approach to education and in all the wonderful teachers, administration and staff. We are truly blessed and thankful for all SOMI has and continues to offer. It has been a second home for our three children.

SoMi is a home away from home with administration, teachers, students, and parents who are family. As an employee since 2015, I’m proud to be a part of a school that not only prepares students academically but one that also continues to create an environment that makes it a special school like no other.

My nephews attend SoMi and they couldn’t be happier. They are challenged, loved, and respected. They are provided with not only the best education but opportunities to be their best selves. SoMi has become their second home and they couldn’t be prouder to be SoMi Sharks.

Somerset Academy South Miami is an excellent school. My daughter has been attending since kindergarten, and her growth as a student has been amazing. She’s now in 5th grade, and will continue her middle school years at SoMi as part of the middle school student body.

My child currently attends SoMi and it is the best decision we have made. The teachers, education and administration are in a league of their own. SoMi is a leader in innovation. All classroom are equipped for virtual learning and the teachers are able to teach in person students as well as virtual students simultaneously. Mrs. Guilarte Gil runs a tight ship but the children thrive and love it! My son has made great friends and loves his school. Thank you SoMI!

We’ve been part of the SoMi family since it opened in 2009 and are extremely grateful for the education that our children received. We will definitely miss it! SoMi Lifers!!!

I currently have all my children at Somi and my husband and I have always said it was the best decision we have ever made. To see their educational and emotional growth each year because of their loving and supportive teachers is priceless. Somi has created an engaging and enriching environment where students are challenged and prepared for their future. Somi is a place built on community both inside and outside of the school.

I highly recommend Somerset SOMI. I’ve been here since Pre-K 4. The teachers and administration are all so loving and caring. I’ve learned so much these past 10 years.

I have been a part of the SOMI family since my nephew started there, and he is already 17 years old. The teachers... the entire faculty is hands down one of the best! There is not one day that my own child tells me she does not want to attend school. I cannot wait for my 3 year to start Pre-K next year!!!

Best school I have ever been to, went there for 9 years and I don't think I couldn't have gone to a better school. I met the best people here and the teachers were amazing. I still talk to the kids here and this school was just great. btw my class was the best, SoMi Class of 2021 was the best group of students. Also Serge also says that this school was the best and "solos" and anything he says goes. and Vian says he loves you

Our family is fortunate enough to have had our daughters attend since Pre-k. The administration, faculty and staff are stellar. From our experience, all the teachers are highly motivated to work and provide the best possible education to their students. They really are a great team. SOMI provides a rigorous curriculum that prepares students to perform stellar on the high school entrance exams as well as on the placement exams.

I love it at SOMI. I enrolled my daughter into the Pre-k program, and I have every intention of keeping her there through 8th grade. The teachers and staff there are the best. The keep us informed on all things going on, and my daughter loves it. I live in a district with a lot of great schools, but I personally feel like SOMI has a little extra to offer. We could not be happier.

Amazing school! I had to switch my girls in the middle of the school year and my biggest fear was that they would have a rough transition. OMG, I should have done it sooner! It was the easiest transition thanks to the amazing office staff and teachers. My daughters LOVE this school and I already see the change academically. I'm so happy to be part of the SoMi Family <3
