I hate to write negative reviews but just want to save anyone else the misery of dealing with this location, or Thrifty in general.We had a prepaid reservation for a car and showed up to pick it up and was told there were no cars available for the day. The woman working at the desk was extremely unpleasant and unhelpful, offering no empathy or suggestions on how I could remedy the situation. She told me it was the situation for all of South Florida and told me to just call to get a refund, instead of trying to process there or assist with any sort of alternative situation.I am grateful to the nearby 5th street Enterprise location who not only helped me immediately get a new reservation, but also treated me with kindness. I will not be booking Thrifty again in the future. Getting the refund required a 30 minute wait on the phone.

Worst location I've ever gone too! They cancelled my car 30 min before I was supposed to pick it up. I booked the car 2 months ago. The woman at the desk said too bad you'll miss thanksgiving with your parents. She should be fired.

Just rented a car for Thrifty at Miami airport. The car had just been washed (still wet) and all windows were rolled down. We waited until we were on the highway to roll the windows up, then we could smell the very strong odor of weed. To top things off both front seats were soaking wet as were our clothes by now. All rental cars are advertised as nonsmoking! DO ANY OF THESE COMPANIES TAKE ACTION WHEN THIS RULE IS VIOLATED! We've smelled cigarette smoke in cars before but never weed!

Booked a reservation for a car a week ago to go from Miami to see my parents in Naples Florida. They call me today 15 minutes before I was due to pick up the car to tell me my reservation was canceled they had no cars. Then I had to call back in afternoon for refund. I had to scrabble and find a car somewhere else and pay more since it was last minute, I have choice words for how low a company they are, unreliable, just awful.

Luis was very unprofessional and rude. I have never in my life experienced such terrible customer service! He should not be working with customers! He showed up 10 minutes late, continued to ignore I was even there for an additional 5 minutes. Then was completely rude our entire conversation. I dont want to go through all the details but believe me you DO NOT want to rent from this place. Interacting with this LUIS guy (apparently he's the manager) can ruin your vacation!

Avoid this place at all costs! If I could give this place a 0 star review, I would. We booked a car through Expedia and was promised a pickup time. We arrived with full suitcases, groceries etc.. and the woman told us there were no cars available. She did not help us in problem solving and figuring out an alternative. She did not even have the decency to apologize for the inconvenience. We were also one of several other people waiting around there with the same issues. Her helpfulness was worse and worse with each customer. she would not even allow us to leave our groceries inside while we walked to a nearby car rental shop. The lack of professionalism was astounding. Avoid.

Reserve car online months in advance. When I got there to rent a car they tried to charge me the entire rental amount, along with astronomical amount of a deposit. Then they said they wouldn't take my credit card because it didn't have a chip in it. And wanted to charge me an extra $500 to use my debit card. They started off my entire honeymoon vacation on a sour note. Do not use these jerks at all cost!!!!

I paid for a car rental in advance through Priceline. Got to the Thrifty office and they had no vehicle for me and did not offer to help in any way or even apologize. No one contacted me to let me know about this, despite having all of my contact information, so I wasted $20 on a Lyft there and another $30 to get to the airport. So instead of spending the last day of my vacation driving out to Key Largo, I got to sit at the airport for 11 hours, trying to get a refund from Priceline, because Thrifty refuses to take responsibility. Shady company with terrible customer service.

Well seeing the other reviews makes this feel unnecessary. Don't bother booking! When we showed up at 9:15am they didn't have a car for us. They said our reservation was 8am. So they gave our car away?? We had already reserved and paid. Why would our car not be waiting for us if paid for. They obviously book more people than they have cars. We called another rental company. They helped us right away.

Chances are you won't see this one star review until it's too late and you already know how awful this place is from your own negative experience. I prepaid my reservation over 2 weeks ago and still couldn't get a car. Useless business and terrible customer service.

Worst experience of my life. I will never rent with this company again. One issue after another that could have been fixed with just a little customer service but no one answered a phone or was able to help. I guess they have enough business so helping you out is not a priority.

Picked up car and suspected that there was a strange smell. Manger convinced me it was nothing. Picked up the family they immediately confirmed the car smelled like urine. I immediately called the location: 216 16th Miami. Manger of Thrifty / Dollar LUIS SALOMON did nothing and refused to acknowledge the issue.I returned the vehicle. I was charged for a single day rental even though the car was returned within 25min (driven 4miles) of being picked up - see attached photo of receipt.The manager also charged a $25 early return fee. LUIS SALOMON Became combative I had to call the police to address his behaviour.Rental contract number RR 982383640This was surprisingly the manager of the location. Thirty / Dollar do better when hiring managers that represent you to the publicPolice arrived and questioned the manger in regards to the smell. The manger claimed that the smell was from the cleaner used to sanitize the car. Conveniently the manager was not able to produce the cleaner for the officer to confirm the bogus claim.Do not use this location. WORST CAR RENTAL SPOT EVER! Whatever you do, do NOT rent your car from here. I booked with this company on February 28th for my trip on May 28th. They called me 4 days before my trip to tell me they do not have a rental car for me. A representative named Una said “there was nothing she can do for me and there’s 15 people ahead of me on the waitlist”. What does that even mean? How can there be a waitlist if a service is booked and paid for online. She was so nasty on the phone and wouldn’t do anything to accommodate for me. I asked to speak to a manager and she said there was no manager there and doesn’t even know when they will show up. This has been the worst service I have ever seen. Whatever you do, NEVER rent a car from here.

One of the worst car rental places I have ever been in. The lady at the desk checking on us had a personality next to none. We were suppose to pick our car up right at 9am, when we got there it wasn’t ready and had to wait an extra 20 minutes or so and the guy said he had to “disinfect” it. When we got inside the vehicle, there was an old face mask and some trash left from the previous person that had rented it.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE!Rented a car, had a confirmation email that showed I prepaid for the vehicle. We show up and are told (like all these other reviews) that there are no cars and 30+ people ahead of us. She said she’d have one for us next week...She also kept saying I didn’t pay even when showing receipt. Pretty sure this business is illegal!!Ana- learn some customer service!! Unfriendly, unhelpful and basically told us to go somewhere else and call customer service.
