I heard of this place by someone I was buying something off of from Marketplace. He was selling his own things, but still took the time to tell me how reasonable this place is.
I'm glad I tried it out! I'm in my 40s collecting retro consoles for my kids and we had such a good time talking about 1st Gens.
They have the most reasonable prices and are the nicest, patient, most helpful people.
100% will be back, and very soon!
Update: Not a fluke. 2nd visit as great as the first!

Basically became my local arcade, very clean shop! Amazing and awesome staff that has no issues talking nerd stuff with ya!
Also, just wanted to show off that I currently hold the record for Galaga in the store! #It'sOnLikeDonkeyKong to anyone who wants to surpass it!
PS. to the previous record holder, don't hate me please lol.

The workers in the shop are seemingly not trained in repairs, not able to communicate with customers, and have very little knowledge of the products they sell nor the services they provide. The associates seem lost in their own thoughts and are unable to help over 3 visits for 3 simple repair or purchase questions. I would skip this place unless you just want to play in their arcade. The arcade is dope, and the best thing about it is that not 1 employee will bother you while you play since they're so busy doomscrolling on their personal, not work-related phones. Great job!

We stopped by Video Game Rescue and were quickly greeted by Maurice who provided a tour and took us through their arcade. They have such a fun selection of arcade games and a unique collection of imported, retro, and current video games. What sold the store for us was definitely the customer service. Maurice and Jared were friendly and knowledgeable and instantly made us feel welcomed. We can’t wait to return with cash so we can play in the arcade!

Maurice was working the day I went. Very nice, very friendly, wanted to give back to customers and said first time customers was his favorite! Maurice even offered to show us around the arcade. Very cool video game shop!

Jared was super knowledgeable and did a trade in for my family. Told us how to access all kinds of games online. Plenty of space for gaming tournaments and lots of pinball games to play! All kinds of Japanese games and figure’s available. Very worth traveling 45 min to get here! Will return for more!

This place is very cool and if you love video games or the 80s it’s fun!!! My son loves this place!!! The staff here is the friendliest and dedicated to their job like no others. Definitely recommend over any other game store in all Jax. VGR you guys are awesome!!!!

Neat store with a very good selection and a little arcade that takes cash. The staff are cool as well. My favorite arcade game from here is Pop'n Music. I'd stop by again sometime in the future if I manage to move up to Jax.

Jared is a fantastic vibe. From one service worker to another, dude has great sociability. Come in every blue moon, the store always has a great selection, I was super bummed when the 2nd location across the Buckman closed down. It was right down the street from me.
My only complaint is y'all got ride of your air hockey table and now I have a jar of quarters collecting dust.
