Customer service was fine. The gentleman at the counter was nice enough. There weren't any issues with erroneous charges. The reason for the two star review is because I left my sun shade and jean jacket in the car when I returned it, almost a month ago now, and it has yet to be found. I rented a Kia Soul (not a big car) while my car was in the shop. You're telling me no one found a cow print sun shade and a women's jean jacket in that little car? There's no way... If they are shady about returning personal items, what else are they shady about?

Bryana at the RSW Hertz rental was amazing. She was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had some issues regarding flights and timing, but she made sure everything with our car rental went smooth and to plan. Big thank you to Bryana! Best car rental experience I have ever had.

I haven’t even started my rental and it’s been a nightmare. The customer service (800 number) was SO. RUDE. The only reason I had to call them, was I have tried to call this location for TWO WEEKS AND NOTHING! It goes to voicemail, which of course is full. Based on the other reviews, I’m better off not using this location anyway. I will happy pay an extra $20/$50 at enterprise to get better service and actually f’n get ahold of someone. I canceled my reservation, which was difficult to do on its own because the app is useless. No thanks. Bye Hertz!

ZERO stars!!! They gave me a car that was not cleaned & infested with cockroaches. You cannot get a hold of real person at the fort myers branch and are now blaming me that I didn’t follow their roadside process!? I don’t work for you, I went to hertz and apparently that’s not enough. Hertz is a disgusting display of abhorrent customer service and all of you should experience sitting in a car with cockroaches crawling around. Shame on you! Looks like all your reviews are 1 star. Maybe you should try and get yourself together. I have used you for over 20 years and will never use hertz ever again.

Picked up an Acadia from hertz rsw ft myers airport 7/18/24. later on 7/20 we find the vehicle is infested with roaches. I called roadside and was told no supervisor was available and that I would have to drive it up to the branch to exchange. I would guarantee a supervisor wouldn’t drive a vehicle with roaches to exchange it. I was told to call back tomorrow to see if they can get approval to have it swapped out. Totally unacceptable. Im not blaming hertz for the issue but it’s up to them to make it right.
A day later finally got a replacement now im getting billed for charges no one can tell me about. Tried calling local no answer and voicemail full. Absolutely terrible experience do not rent here!

Not very customer friendly. The confusion took up too much time. A lot of the traction's you were on your own to figure out which again was very time consuming.

Yesterday our flight was diverted to RSW and several of us were stranded. I went to the Hertz desk since I am a gold member. I told the guy there (an overweight young caucasian guy was on shift when I got there between 9:30pm-10pm on 7/15/24 at RSW). I asked if there were corporate discounts since I am an airline employee. He said the fee was $148 as the corporate discount, which would include insurance at no cost. Come to find out, the rental was only $68.99 plus tax and fees and he charged me for the insurance. I reached out to Hertz with recorded proof of my conversation with him and they agreed to refund it. I post this because he probably defrauded several other customers who were desperate to get home, which is poor business practice and I want a formal corporate complaint filed. Thank goodness I had my proof showing he blatantly lied to our face.

Arrived at airport at 12:30 AM and walked up to the counter to rent an SUV. Sales Rep was nice and we let him know we wanted to pay for car rental but didn’t need auto coverage because our insurance covered it. Almost completed the process when system went down. Took 1 1/2 hours to reset the computers and manager wouldn’t do it manual way even though it was an option and kept trying to reset computers. Ended up leaving at 2:30 AM and when received receipt they charged $40 more than the initial quote and put 300 dollars of auto coverage that I specifically said we didn’t need. Tried contacting them and it’s been over a week with no response.

Car return workers refuse to issue a receipt. There are almost always additional erroneous charges (fuel that I replaced, tolls in areas the car could not possibly have been) on the receipt I receive via email afterwards. I then have to spend literally hours providing proof that the additional charges are in error. Cars are always in poor condition: scratched, dirty. Staff is surly and unaccommodating. Seriously, I'm not a difficult customer. I don't need to be coddled or complimented, or even thanked. I just expect a decent car without a hassle.

Notated the crack in the windshield when we retrieved the car from the RSW airport pick up on 7/06. Barely used the car, we didn’t even have to refill with gas- that’s how little we used it. Drove it back to the lot around 5AM to board our flight 4 days later. Got our receipt saying $0 due. Now, after 1 month, we’re getting mail, email, and phone calls regarding a “collection”. They are charging us $800 for the windshield that we notated on the condition form at the time of pick up!!! They even have cameras all throughout the area but cannot prove it was already damaged. An abhorrent attempt at collections and completely unethical business practice!!!
Just called and waited 30 min on hold. Spoke to the representative for 2 minutes, she said she would have to transfer me to the location. A random person answered “hello” and said it was his cell phone. What a JOKE of a business!!

1 hour on hold transferred twice to get hung up on. Absolutely no way to speak to a person when you are having issues. Never again.

In all the years of being a Hertz customer I have never encountered such a poor experience that started off at an off site location when I asked the airport manager and the agent in the customer service booth for the vehicle to be swapped because the cigarette smell inside of that vehicle was unbearable for my wife and son who has severe asthma they both refused to assist and the manager had no care in the world condescending and dismissive acted as if he was bothered that I was even there acted like if we were speaking about a vehicle that belonged to a completely different company in another world and he basically treated me like if I wasn’t a customer of the company I will make sure to reconsider our choices when it comes to our companys future rental needs I can deal with a slightly dirty car but this car not being cleaned at all and smoked in and on top of it zero customer service from the two individuals that are supposed to be the most customer friendly on site to be the least that is intolerable the young lady at the return lane had better manners and was more customer oriented than the rest of the management team there this afternoon so disappointing and the so called manager Patrick acted like if he wanted to fight me because I yelled at him that he was being a jerk as he walked away because he was being a jerk to me and didn’t want to hear or even see the picture that I had taken of the unclean vehicle that was handed to me and didn’t care about the situation that I needed resolve this evening
