Spent thousands of dollars for a/v installation that has never worked properly. Awful customer service, would never let them on my boat or anywhere else again.

Your company's receptionists need some training on professionalism. One woman answered from accounting and was very rude. No potential customer will put up with that.

Johnson Electronics sent a technician who clearly did not know his way around the Simrad chart plotter. We told him it probably needed an update, he fiddled around clearly not knowing what he was doing. I called his office to ask why they sent this technician that did not know these units, they spoke with him so he started checking the wiring which was fine as the unit switches on and most functions working. He wasted 2 hours said nothing he could do. The unit is inoperable. I was sent a bill for 3 hours Labour at $135.00 per/hour $405.00. We took the unit to Commercial Marine electronics they did an update and unit is working fine. Can I recommend them? Well go figure.

The only thing more difficult than having a problem with your marine GPS, electronic charts, radar, sonar, VHF, satellite communications or other marine electronic devises is finding someone in South Florida that is reliable, competent and reasonable that can repair them. So, after going through some others that didn't return phone calls, missed appointments or were generally incompetent at doing what they said they could do, I can hardly say enough good words about the folks at Johnson Electronics & Machinery, Inc. My marine Gamin 5000 series GPS went down on me, resulting in a situation of either getting it fixed or having to navigate like Colridge's "Ancient Mariner," which would have been akin to, as Coleridge so aptly phrased that omen of mariners bad luck as being in a like situation wherein "Instead of the Cross, the Albatross about his neck was hung." After some bad results with others, I went to the offices of Johnson Electronics where late on a Friday I met with one of their office staff, Louise, who immediately set me up for a repair appointment on Monday morning. Imagine that! No weeks of waiting around or having my boat laid up, unable to enjoy it. I was going to get immediate service! Sure enough, on Monday at the appointed time Keith, one of their repair men showed up, quickly went to work and fully resolved my problem. He also did it without wasting any time about it and when I went to give him a cash tip for his excellent work, he declined it saying "No, this is my job, it's what they pay me to do so I can't accept it." So, in the event anyone out there has a marine electronics problem, I highly recommend Johnson Electronics. Five Stars!!!
