After seeing all the horrible reviews for dollar, I felt I should provide an overall positive experience.
Returned my one way rental from PHX to VPS. The car wasn't the most clean on pickup. There were toothpicks and used q-tip and toothpaste in the passenger door along with dirt and in many places. However, all in all a pretty nice car, 2023 Toyota Camry. Their agent in PHX really helped me out of a pickle.
Just know if you are renting one way. You should depart with the car locally and fly home. Doing the reverse is a huge headache if you fly somewhere then decided to drive home. One way rentals require proof of travel date on/around the vehicle return date.

Excellent experience. Easy rental experience online, great pricing, rental desk agents were very helpful and fast, got a fantastic upgrade, and return was easy peasy!! Will use Dollar rental in Ft Walton Beach again, thank you!!

Our rental car had 1/4 of a tank of gas when we picked it up instead of being full. It was after 9:00p when we picked up the car and didnt realize the low gas until a few miles down the road. We put gas in the car and told the Dollar representative about it when we returned the car. The car had more gas in it than when we picked it up. The dollar representative ASSURED me that we would be charged for the gas since it wasnt picked up full. I have a charge on my credit card for gas 10 days after returning the car. I will never rent from Dollar again!

You know when you're on a map in a video game and you make it to the end of the graphics and your character just bumps into an invisible wall with no possibility of getting any further ?
That's a literal depiction of me any time I've attempted to rent a car and especially after ive spent $50 on an Uber to get to the airport where i expected to pick up the confirmed car
This time it's because I have a Florida ID and despite having the VIP account, which I enrolled in to access the benefits of waived fees and whatnot, since I have two cards linked to my account but none of them are credit cards (only debit) I am now expected to spend another 50 on an uber back
So if you plan to rent from dollar at VPS Make sure that you also don't have a Florida ID and that you have two cards linked in the VIP profile and that one of them is a Visa credit card specifically
If all of those criteria are not met you will be SOL

If I could leave 0 stars, I really would, you screwed over my whole trip by giving me a car with broken bluetooth, and the way this company tries so hard to make their workers avoid applying any customer service on the phone is a JOKE. And if you do try calling, they will stall you as much as possible. Go to enterprise or hertz where your experience with them actually matters! Dollar car rental will always be an issue. Just look at the reviews!

Fraudulent charges on my receipt. They charged me $93 for “fuel” when I went and filled up right outside of the airport and returned it 100% full. They also changed other charges. I have spent a hour on hold only to be hung up on. I was overcharged $118.92. The return process was sketchy and I had a feeling something like this was going to to happen. Do not use this company.

Don’t rent from here! When checking out they are now asking to run your credit after putting card down and taking $500 down..???? Seriously how inconvenient and stressful won’t ever rent from here again

Our car got booked on a credit card prior to our trip, standard, yes. However, when we arrived, it was discovered that the card charged somehow was not ours. Instead of being able to provide an ID that matched the reservation
along with new payment (also matching the reservation) immediately, the rental desk employee informed us that we would be required to pay an additional $200 to use a new credit card. They - for some reason - required to see the card that the car was booked on it, even tho we were able to show the charge applied to our account. There should be no reason that they needed to see any card except for what we were paying the balance with, that matches the name on the reservation...very frustrating!

Great customer service, however I got an electronic vehicle from them. They said there was a charging station at my hotel. I didn't think anything of it. The car was at 34% when I picked it up. The hotel has a tesla charging station, the rental car did not come with an adapter. (It was a kia) when I researched charging areas only two came up. (BMW dealership and the hospital) charging takes 8 hours, I work from 0700 to 1800. I don't have time to sit in my car and let it charge nor do I find it practical to drop the car off and uber to and from the hotel. I managed to charge the car to 36% but when I finally got to the airport it was at 28% I am being charged $168.00 for the power to charge that car. Absolutely ridiculous that Dollar didn't do the analysis on electronic cars to chargers in this area.

Will NEVER rent from this company again. The young man at the counter was rude, mean, talking super fast and soft so no one could hear him. Very gamey person. NEVER AGAIN AND WE DO NOT RECCOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY. We will see if Dollar reaches out to us for additional information.

I forgot my sunglasses at this location yesterday in the car (vehicle number 9829086) with agreement number 576071521. I called customer service a hundred times. No one knows this location's phone number. I submitted the lost and found form online on their website. The Destin location was not even on the online list. I had to submit my case as if it were at Jacksonville Airport. I need someone from this branch to reach out to me!

prepaid for reservation for family, prechecked in, get to destination - no cars, told to wait in lobby 3 to 4 hours. No accomodation just we are sorry. Corporate office tells us that reservations are not contracts and therefore they don't have to honor. Hertz / Dollar using a new age bait and switch on consumers. Bait you with low rates, you reserve, get tondestination no cars
