This place is the worst. I booked a room that no one had stayed in all week and these people wait till I arrive to decide to send housekeeping and maintenance to the room to paint it.

We stayed at Destin Gulfgate in July 2024. This is truly a hidden jewel on Scenic 98. Deep beach. Not crowded. Easy umbrella and chair rentals (in addition to the complimentary umbrella and two chairs daily). Very well kept building and units. Super helpful office staff. We stayed in Unit 206 -- super clean and nicely decorated. Have stayed in Seaside, Rosemary Beach and other 30A locations which are really nice, but this being right on beach front, quiet and much less crowded was our best stay so far in this area. Having the ability to do "walk up" dining and bar at the Back Porch while on the beach was also a bonus. Cannot recommend highly enough!

We've been here twice and love this place. The front desk is beyond helpful, the condos are very well furnished, the included beach chairs and umbrellas are very welcome. It's just awesome to wake up (to the sound of the ocean) and just walk down to the beach and not have to worry about driving anywhere, finding parking, and setting up an umbrella and chairs. The beach is beautiful and you can even reach the wifi from your beach chair.
We can't wait to visit again.

The condo was beautiful! Living room furniture and beds were very comfortable. View was amazing and location was great .This was a VRBO but managed by Gulfgate.Unfortunately, when we opened the door to the condo we were hit in the face with cigarette smoke. We checked in after the office was closed but I texted them immediately to let them know. I did not expect a response since they were closed but did go to the office the next morning. I was told the previous guest had left a candle burning and that was what the smell was from. I let her know I am allergic to cigarette smoke and thought the previous guest was using the candle to mask the odor. I was horribly congested, throat hurting and a headache. I was also not thrilled that my family was breathing in second hand smoke. I told her I knew this was a VRBO so I wasn't sure if it was possible to change condos. She said she would look but offered to send maintenance up to change the air filters. I even asked about an air purifier but told them I knew nothing about clearing smoke from a building. She said she didn't think it was smoke and just from the candle. All that was done to remedy the situation was air filters changed and air freshener sprayed in the condo. No one ever got back to me about moving spaces or to see if it was any better.I had to wash all the towels in the condo that weren't under a cabinet because they all smelled of cigarette smoke. Any clothes that we hung in the closet also smelled like smoke.We will never rent this unit again #804. I understand that you can't control what your guest do (smoking in the unit) but it will take some serious work to get that smell out of that unit.Once we got home we realized it was worse than we thought. All of our bags, coolers, jackets etc smelled of cigarettes' smoke and had to be washed if they could be or aired out if not.I think Gulfgate should have made some accommodation to make this right. Their rental agreement says the whole building is non smoking. We paid for a non smoking condo. And we paid what we feel is good money to get what was advertised and what our signed rental agreement said. They did not hold up to their end of the agreement.

I am probably the wrong person to ask as I as an owner.I think that our employees are extremely sensitive to the needs of our clients. They go out of their way to ASSIST TO THE OWNERS .?♥️?♥️?
