VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!Stopped at BB&T to get cash for a weekend at the beach, entered required info as normal only to then get a message the system was not available due to "System Upgrade and bank merger". ATM did not return the card.Customer service for BB&T was fully automated and no options for emergenct customer needs outside or regular banking functions.Truist (the merger bank) had customer service with an accent, but he (Peter) was unable to assist due to not having access to BB&T records.NO Emergency telephone numbers listed on ATM machine, the Doors of Bank, or on the Website. Left message on an answering machine supposedly at the bank. No response so far.Tried 311- information for an emergency contact for the bank, to assist in returning my card, they were unable to help.BB&T / Truist was closed on Monday (Holiday) and I was forced to cut my beach trip short, as I only carry one debt card.As of this time, I have received NO response from BB&T or Truist of any form.If your going to due a "System UpGrade" the ATM system should display "Out of Order" or System Down for Upgrade" and NOT accept a card it won't give back.Planning and implementing a Computer Upgrade and/or System merger on Friday, of a legal holiday, defies logical thinking and is the definition of stupidity, in my opinion.I won't bank with BB&T or Truist (period)

Been banking with bb&t for almost 10 years. I never had to go inside the bank much, actually this was the second time in Destin in 5 years. First time, Mary helped me. She was awesome. Today went in to do something small and easy, ended up closing my account due to Cynthia. She was horrible. You can tell the people that are working for a paycheck from the people that care. Hey Cynthia, advice from one in customer service to another...If someone is asking a question or needs HELP with their account and your help does not know the answer, dont ignore the situation and customer by walking away and being rude at the same time. BB&T, you deserve better. Well, off to wells Fargo!

They are slow as molasses, everything they do. It's really not the bank you want if you desire efficiency.

Terrible terrible bank. Don't expect any customer service from this bank. Check the fine print because Hunner who opens accounts doesn't know the banks policies. The managers is rude. He will apologize left and right but do nothing to find a soltution to the problem. I have been charged almost 500$ in overdraft fees because the bank has a crazy policy that any money deposited from a merchant gateway will hold for many days on end. I have been lied to multiple times. I've asked for the district managers phone number and Hunner would not give it. He said he would have the manager call me. Never happened. I called and was given a million excuses for why no one ever seems to call anyone back. It's clear Hunner cannot handle anyone being disappointed with his work because he will promise anything he can to get the customer to leave such as I will look into this, I will call you back, I will check into refunding you for the accidental charges. But never calls back. I then came into the bank and calmly asked him why I was never called. He said he hadn't received an answer from anyone yet. But then his story change three times afterwards back and forth with blatant lies. And by the way you can receive an answer instantly by calling the 800 number. This branch is a joke. Don't bank here. Go to Wells Fargo. When you have a deposit come into Wells Fargo it's immediately available. With bbt they hold the deposits in pending for multiple days on end while the available balance shows a misleading higher amount in the account summary online page. This bank is a joke. He manager doesn't know anything about customer service. I run a business with five star reviews left and right and that is only earned by being honest, forthright and having excellent customer service skills Also the district manager was not even aware of the policies that the 800 number clearly seemed to be aware of. It's clear no one at this bank knows what they are talking about, they are not on the same page and no one really cares about happy clients

Always friendly and helpful. I, Nickemia Clark live in Alabama and my daughter (minor ) lives in Destin. They always go out of their way to accommodate our unique baking situation. On many occasions they have coordinated with the a Pleasant Grove, Alabama branch to meet all of our needs. Genuinely pleasant people..

This branch and the Panama City Beach branch have wonderful people who genuinely smile. They are friendly and if they have a bad day they sure never let people know! They also have really great investment councilors that take a lot of time to make sure you understand and that they fit your requirements and needs. Our business uses this bank for each store and our entire holding company. However, if you are looking for a mortgage.... this is where we had a horrible experience that nearly caused us to remove our entire business from their facilities! It happened in Northern Georgia, in the Ellijay area. We were raked through the coals, drawn out, and (best I can describe) financially raped. They could see all our financial information - every single dollar of it, yet they caused such drama over an applied for mortgage (looking for 20% of the full cost- we were paying 80% up front) that we were forced to walk away - LOSING the $2000.00 in ernest money we put down up front. If you are in the Ellijay Georgia area - RUN AWAY from BB&T's mortgage department!!!
