My son had physical therapy there a while back. Amazing staff and facility. The team followed up with us every step of the way.

I don't write a lot of reviews. Like many, when things fall within the norms you simply go on with your life but when they bounce above or below, you tend to give your opinion. Heres mine. The gym its self has a lot to offer when it comes to equipment. And they tend to do a lot of work with disabled and insured people. And most of the trainers are compassionate and competent. That is as far as I will go with the praise.I was a member at barwis for almost 3 years. During that time the gym has gone through spans where it is totally unusable. It gets filled with young teens being obnoxious dancing and being careless while listening to loud, rated r/x rap music blaring through the rafters.Explicit lyrics play while grade school kids train and run around. The weights get piled around one 'high profile' athlete. Trainers sit their clipboards and water bottles and lunches on benches or other high use equipment and just leave it for hours on end.Simple things like a golf swing trainer get broken and remain missing a simple bolt for months on end. The hot tubs turn brown for weeks on end.Dirty towels mixed in with clean towels.Employees smelling like they took a Marlboro shower.Overall most of these things can be expected from a high profile gym catering to south Florida. The kicker and what caused me to quit is the inconsistency in the pricing.I have 3 other 'semi professional friends' (We play volleyball/golf/tennis at a semi professional/professional level) whom all have memberships. We travel around the world for play and are gone for months on end. The big perk of Barwis is that there is no initiation fee, just a flat fee per month based on, or supposedly based on, what you use, not whom you are.The pricing between my particular group of 10 people for the same 'membership', upon chatting varies greatly. It is never a good look to be charging based on 'feels', but it happens. I suppose this is acceptable and you have a choice to stay or leave. Which is why I left.I went on a trip as I have done multiple times and upon coming back my fee was raised almost 50%. I inquired at the desk and they had no real answer and told me you could not put your membership on 'hold' (which is exactly what I have done many times). Almost every time I have returned I have brought with me new customers and clients (I train athletes of all skill levels) and have always been extremely positive towards the facility. On the day I removed my membership the interraction went like this:Me: Hi:). Can you put in for my membership to end at the end of this cycle? Her: You can tell us at the end of the month you want to cancel.Me: Does my membership end on the 31st this month? Her: I dont know.Me: How would I know? Her: Ugg, one second (closes what had to be social media). Her: It ends in 2 days.Me: You charged me 1.5 months on the 15th last month? Was this half of last month and all of this month? Her: No.Me: So my membership went up 50%?Her: Yeah.Me: So you just change the price without telling people while they are out of the country/on hold? I specifically discussed what I was paying with the person that re-activated it. I specifically dropped the recover room. and kept just the workout and discussed the price. She didnt inform me that it was different than discussed. Her: Yes.Me:What exactly does yes mean? Her: It went up. You cant put it on hold. Me: I have done this 3 times when I travel for training. I didnt pay for around 4-6 months (nor used) each time and never had a problem. Her: I dont know.Me: Ok cancel it.Her: Ok it will cancel on the 15th.Me: Ok (leaving)Her: You have 2 days you can still workout.Me: I will never promote or work out here again. In short, there is nepotism/friendism/randomism going on with their pricing, and they really don't care whether you come in unless you have a big name. I suggest using something like Gravity and Oxygen in Boca where each customer is treated equally and the training is top notch. And you dont have to listen to loud, cursing songs with teeny boppers running aro

Kelly and her team at Barwis are amazing! They were able to relieve my hip pain that I have had for 2 years in 2 months. The gym and recovery area are world class and if you are looking for true physical therapy, Barwis is the place to go. They make it very individualized, educational and most importantly effective.

I love this place I've been attending it for 4 years but unfortunately it's starting to change I'm noticing a difference where I am getting taken off the schedule randomly and it's being filled by other people I am in a wheelchair and I have been going to this place and gaining a lot but every time they take me off the schedule it makes me decline by a lot as well, I don't understand what's going on with the front of house but something needs to change because they are going to start losing people soon

BARWIS surely exceed my expectations for doing my first physical therapy. It was recommended by my orthopedic due a my tennis elbow issue. My physical therapist, Makayla, was very professional and friendly. She walked me through the whole process and gave clear instructions. The entire team all had good energy and the place surely has a nice workout vibe. Setup is spacious and clean.

I really wasn’t looking forward to doing physical therapy after my second knee surgery but my experience at BARWIS has been exceptional! I’ve worked mostly with Dom who’s been great but anytime I’ve had another member of the team work with me they have been super knowledgeable and I always felt confident they were doing a great job getting me closer to being back to 100%.

It’s hard to know how to start. A season ending, soul crushing ACL and Meniscus tear sidelined an extremely talented and dedicated young 14 yo indoor volleyball player. After surgery and basic PT, a dear friend directed us to Barwis in Deerfield Beach. Her daughter had suffered the same injury, different sport.Dr Dominic Brugnoni in PT took control of her ACL specific rehab and return to play plan of attack. Dr Dom along with the best trainer, Tony Giachetti, that I have ever met worked with her multiple times a week from 6 ms post surgery to now 14 ms out and continuing. They are athletes themselves so they get what it takes personally and professionally to get every athlete in this place back to top performance shape.Barwis and these amazing people have become an essential part of her weekly trainings both physically and mentally. This kind of injury to a young athlete that had just landed at the club she wanted to be at and on the team of her dreams, can definitely mess with your psyche. Dr Laura, in the sports psychology department here, has been unbelievable as well. My daughter isn’t a big talker but Dr Laura had gotten her to open up during the process and before her first tournament back which was exactly where the injury happened. All of these amazing people along with Austin, the front desk manager, make whatever you need to happen… happen.I cannot express my gratitude and admiration to this entire organization and recommend them enough.Whether you’re a professional athlete or a young aspiring athlete or a tennis mom rehabbing or a a victim of a serious injury, this is the place for you.

I came to the golden citadel that is Barwis after breaking my arm in two and shattering my wrist after a grappling injury. Broken and lost I came to Barwis seeking aid and assistance in any way possible. Thats when I saw him. Austen Hopsen. He strode in immersed in cool, calm and confident energy. He stood 6'4, his Barwis T-shirt barley containing his muscles that were chiseled by the gods themselves, his jawline was only covered by a goatee that shook me to my core. I knew instantly that I was in the right hands, not only cause they were mad strong like his pecs but also cause they were properly moisturized so I knew he wasn't just a brute but in fact an intellectual that easily reads 2-3 books a week. So don't be fooled, even though all Barwis PT's look like Olympic Athletes they all have their Doctorates and will completely discipline you in wordle should the need arise. All jokes aside Barwis took my completely mangled arm and turned me into the powerhouse stud that I am today. My doctor gave me 2 months to hold 2 pounds and Barwis helped me completely crush that goal. Within one month of my catastrophic injury Barwis helped me gain full mobility and my success has been shared beyond just myself. My father in-law as well as my sister have both received the world class care that Barwis offers and they both have reaped the rewards, with my sister making a full recovery post multiple shoulder surgeries and my father in-law gaining a six pack after rocking a keg for much of his life. Every PT in the room is rock solid. The facility is world class and the energy in the room is contagious. Really the only question you should have after reading this review is "when can I start".

So my man always spoke super highly about this place almost to the point that it was kind of weird because he even went to the extent to say that his PT had a goatee that “shook him to his core” (what does that even mean?). But then he started taking my father to physical therapy at Barwis. My father is pre op in the process of going through a hip replacement surgery so we figured he could work his upper body as his lower body is indisposed. Tell me why two weeks in my day came home with a six pack??!?!? He’s 75??? Anyways make Barwis your choice because if they can give him a six pack imagine what they can do for you.

Never heard of Barwis? Well, you should know all about it. I am an aging athlete, almost 79 years of age. It's great that I can swim two thousand yards or walk/run a 5K or ride my bike for 10 miles, but that doesn't help me much in getting off the couch or out of a chair or with my range of motion, flexibility or balance. That's where Barwis comes in.My physical therapist, Joe Fiorelli, is amazing. He is so very knowledgeable. He has me stretching to help my range of motion and many exercises to help my balance, flexibility and, oh yes, exercises aimed directly at sitting down and getting back up. What makes Barwis even more amazing is the level of athleticism, enthusiasm and training going on around me. Whether it's someone disabled from an accident or a professional athlete either in or trying to be selected for the NFL, NHL, MLB or NBA, the energy coming from these young athletes is absolutely infectious. You cannot but try to do better. I even volunteered to do wind sprints with some of these athletes, but wiser heads prevailed so I'm here to tell the tale.To summarize, if you're training for an event or just for life; if you're recovering from a debilitating event or just want to be better at being you, Barwis is the place. Give it a try.Joel Schwartz
