“I visited Filipi Jewelers because I was looking for an antique wedding band and understood from other reviews that they carry estate pieces. Vilson, the owner was with another customer but he greeted my fiancé and I and told us he would be right with us. The customer that was being served seemed like she had been a long time customer and before she left she told me that Vilson is the best. Vilson was immediately warm, funny, and friendly. He had a lot of estate pieces in his safe and took the time to bring boxes out one by one, and show me what he had. He made recommendations on pieces based on the era that I was looking for and was very knowledgeable about jewelry trends at that time. I was looking for something simple and delicate. He showed me what he thought I might like and at no point did he try to steer me into something more elaborate (and therefore more expensive). I really appreciated the time he spent with me. Even though I would likely be a small sale, he made me feel like a priority. I was looking for something very specific, a yellow gold Art Deco era thin band. After some time, we finally found it! The perfect piece! He cleaned it for me and gave me a beautiful box. He told me that if I was ever ready for another ring, that I could come back and exchange the ring I purchased for something new and he would honor the price I paid for the ring and apply it towards my new purchase. He has customers who have been coming to him for 30 years, slowly upgrading over time. He also melts down old pieces, recycling what he can to make new jewelry. I so appreciate that Vilson takes something old and unwanted and gives it a new life and purpose! As someone who tries to be a responsible, discerning, consumer, I am so happy with my experience at Filipi's. It is so nice to shop somewhere where you can get something you love without compromising your values. If you want to use your dollars to support local business and customer service the way it should be but so rarely is, or if you are looking for something unique that has history, this is the place.”

Today, we were taken care of by Karla, who was piercing a young man's ears, but acknowledged us and another customer in line. After a few short minutes, she came over very nicely and thanked us for waiting. The store is clean, in order and located on the west side of the mall, by Penneys.
