There is so much expired food on the shelves. I am now seeing in other reviews that this has been a problem for years. The store has also acknowledged these reviews which makes it apparent that they are allowing it to continue.

They always have what I need. The meat section is much better than the other local grocery stores. Prices are decent too.

I purchased 2 pounds of crab legs and had them steamed. The meat was so dry that it was attached to the shell. The employee put so much Old Bay seasoning that the legs were overly saturated with it and I still had about a 1/4 of a cup of seasoning after pouring the legs onto newspaper. Unedible!

Rating 3.5I frequent this location and feel the vast majority of employees and management are fabulous. The one consistent issue I have is the meat and seafood department, as many times there is just nobody there. If you need more employees, hire them. If you can't, then someone really needs to be cross-trained to work that counter when they go on break or have other tasks to fulfill. At the very least a manager needs to step up, as it can't be unmanned at 6 PM on a Saturday. Multiple times I have stood back there and had to call the main phone number to tell them nobody is there. Not for nothing, but this has literally never happened to me at Giant, ACME, or Fresh Market. It has to stop as it happens all the time.Another problem is the breakfast meats section, where expired products are routinely on display for sale. I have seen sausage that was weeks past date, as shown in the photo. It is a common issue and not a one time thing.All that said, the store is convenient and the people are nice. The self-checkout works great. This could be a 5 star store without a ton of effort and changes.UPDATE 3/9/2024: They want to speak with me and are concerned, yet once again I go in at 5:30 on a Friday (yesterday) looking to get a nice steak, and the meat/seafood counter is dark. I waited about 15 min before snapping the picture on this review with the timestamp showing. I wound up just leaving and going to Giant. It is frustrating an inexcusable for this happen constantly.

Horrible experience at the Rehobath beach Safeway. We made appoints for vaccine shots through the Safeway web site. After arriving we were informed by the Pharmacist to wait for the Tech. There was one couple ahead of us who had an appointment as well. The technician came out and boldly stated WE (I) only give inoculations between 10-2 - so we were SOL. We explained to SUSAN that we made the appointment through the Safeway web, and furthermore there were no visible signs posted by the pharmacy. At this point SUSAN became rude, obnoxious and acted like a tyrant. We immediately went to the store manager Tom who apologized and stated he would speak to her. We will never shop at this store. The one star rating goes to the store manager. Dear Safeway management - try to hire people mor people like Tom that have customer service skills and train others who don’t (SUSAN)

A little frustrating , we went in hoping for some seafood, really wanted some king crab legs . At that dept we saw plenty of them in the case , the dept was closed and there were none bagged up and no one in the entire store could or would give us a bag of them . Such a shame to have them displayed and not be able to purchase any.

The variety Safeway has is nothing short of incredible. I could have easily spent two hours or more going up and down each aisle looking at everything they had on the shelves. It was only supposed to be a quick stop to get a cake from the bakery, and I ended up spending way more than I should have. Warning! Don't go into a grocery store hungry.Unfortunately, the customer service skills of the cashiers are terrible, absolutely terrible, like everywhere else these days. I can only hope that things will change sooner rather then later.
