Dr. Anthony has helped me through some very difficult times.

Dr. Anthony and the whole staff at Hockessin Animal Hospital have cared for our 4-year old Golden Doodle since birth. They do a wonderful job!

When I was in for my dog’s annual wellness check in march 25th. My dog has anxieties of veterinarians like most dogs. The checkup went very well after I held him as he feels very secure when I hold him when they are giving him his shots. To my surprise they decided to take him in the back to take his blood. When they came back the veterinarian told me he was very fussy but they were able to take his blood. We paid our bill and just told us he needed his tooth extraction. We left with no problems. A week later, I received a phone call from an officer Ramirez from the Delaware animal control and just told me to give him a call. As I have been receiving several scam calls, I searched the phone number that found that the number was a scam call and so I never called him back. A week later, I received the same phone call again with no message except that I needed to call him back. Again I ignored it and reached out to the FTC. A week later when I came home from shopping, I noticed a note at my door again from Officer Ramirez and again no message. I decided to email Hockessin animal hospital, and to my surprised she called me back and told that my dog had given their technician a small bite and went to Christiana care ( no stitches were needed). I told the manager why she never told me when I left the clinic or never called. She only said she was sorry. As a senior citizen, I am always concerned of scammers and people harassing me. This is unacceptable and requested my dogs records so far I have not it. This clinic is keeping my records and no only phone call from this clinic. I would not recommend this clinic to no one and I would not trust this clinic with anyone’s dogs.

I've been taking my 3 dogs to this vet for 4 years, since moving to the area. Recently, my eldest dog was nearing that time and I requested a call from a vet to discuss end of life care. No one bothered to call, despite my asking two times. They clearly do not care about their patients if there is no way to bill them.

Dr Anthony and staff are absolutely like family. My little one has recently left one vet to this one, due to a move, and I see why everyone loves this place. Dr. Anthony treated her as if she were his own little puppy. Dr. Anthony did not talk too high level for me and was honest and caring. It was a breath of fresh air. Also, Zoe was very friendly and caring towards us and mimi. My son and his wife have been seeing Dr. Anthony for many years - and now I know why they never want to leave. Thank you for caring, thank you for loving, thank you for being about the animals and not about the dollar. - Kay Shoemaker

Dr. Anthony and staff have been a godsend to my dog who has multiple health issues. This is the first time in 4 years my dog has thrived and his health issues have been stabilized. I highly recommend them and I am so thankful for all that they have done for my dog D.J. Aside from their expertise, the facility is spotless and so clean.

I have been seeing the staff at Hockessin Animal Hospital for over 20 years. The team is always friendly, handle my pets with gentle and loving hands. It is obvious that each staff member loves caring for our pets. Dr. Mitchell is amazing!

Dr. Anthony is amazing. I honestly feel if it wasn't for him we would not have had gunny as long as we did. I always refer people to them. I can not express how much they have meant to us over the years. Even when a pet passed they were there. Amazing people. More then just doctors and techs.

I'd like to give a big shoutout to Dr. Anthony, Amy, and the entire team at Hockessin Animal Hospital for taking care of Hooch through the years. I honestly couldn't have asked for better care. Also knowing this team was in my corner at each turn of his life, put my mind at ease. You can see the dedication everyone here has to making sure your companion is comfortable. Our cat has had bad breath for the last few weeks which can indicate a problem with a tooth. Concerned, I called and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Janet Mitchell at the Hockessin Animal Hospital for the next day at 5:20. When we arrived for her appointment, the staff person didn't know anything about it and said Dr. Mitchell was too busy to see her today and sent us away but offered to reschedule (really?). So now as I write this review, our cat is home hiding traumatized. I realize cats can be especially stressed when they get a ride to the vet. They do get over it but this poor cat has been put through this for no reason. We’ll now have to continue to pay for someone else’s incompetence since we’ll have to go through this again when we take her to a different vet. This first impression gets two thumbs down!

I'm new to the area and have a pretty nervous dog so choosing a vet is very important to me. Dr. Mitchell and the vet tech Brooke made me feel so at ease and gave my dog very thoughtful care. They never made me feel rushed even though I was the last appointment of the day and stayed a little past closing. I'm looking forward to bringing my dog in for future care from this team.

Great care and professionalism, but the prices are quite high relative to other clinics and hospitals in the area. I would recommend seeing a different vet if you don't need any sort of care besides basic shots and checkups.
