Hidden $60/day parking fee. Required $35 daily gym membership “amenities fee” which enables them to falsely advertise a lower daily rate online. Phone broke in Room 512. Coffeemaker was terrible. Bathroom ventilation is poor. Hotel keycard stopped working after the first day. Plan on spending over $100 total for two people per meal at the hotel restaurant.

Was completely lied to about pricing and was never told about incidental insurance. After getting railroaded with this information we were treated to a room with a cooked tv. When this was brought up to the front desk they shrugged and offered us drink vouchers. I don't even want to use them because I'm sure I will get railroaded again and they will just forget. Will NEVER stay here again.

I stayed at Darcy for 3 nights did to a conference.
My first night, the heater was not working, I was freezing in the bed!
Moreover, at phone and later desk, I asked them several times my two separate reservations would be the same room, and told yes. However, later I found this is not the case. Although the matter is resolved, another loss of time. Finally, the bathroom and shower in the room are super compact.
I give 2 stars for good location and good memories with my conference.

Update 23/10/24
Elanka, the manager who proactively helped us to address the noise problem on the first night, reached out via both email and phone to follow up on our experience at the hotel. She apologized for our subpar experience at the hotel and refunded portion of our stay as a token of goodwill which was appreciated.

I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to after a very poor experience we had at the Darcy. This review is pertaining to the manager working the front desk the morning 20/10/24 who treated us very disrespectfully.
My boyfriend and I were staying at the Darcy for a wedding and on our second night, we found a baby cockroach on the bathroom counter (see photo and video attached which we showed to the staff). We went down the next morning to let the front desk know and had a terrible experience with the male manager on duty who accused us of making up problems and causing issues for the hotel - “When we see that someone has multiple problems with a room, this is concerning to us”. For context, we had a noise issue the evening before as the neighbouring room was partying from 3 until 5 in the morning - we got no sleep. The female manager on duty the day before was very helpful and moved us to a different floor.
When explaining the situation to the male manager, he kept interrupting, clearly trying to get rid of us without hearing us out, rolling his eyes and speaking to us in a very rude tone. After a lot of back and forth he angrily told us that all he was willing to do was remove one night’s amenity fee ($35) - a small pittance for how we were treated.
I’ve never experienced this kind of attitude or disrespect from someone working front of house, let alone, at a four star hotel. Overall the entire experience left a very bad taste in our mouth and spoiled what should have been a joyous weekend.

Good usable hotel with a few restaurants, shops and CVS in neighborhood.
The rooms are OK but a little bit small for the price. Specially that there is no possibility to store not hanging clothes in the wardrobe makes me wondering? If you had to stay threre for more than an few days, you get in trouble with this. No shelves for t-shirts, underwear,.. You have to have it in your luggage or on desk? Crazy.
The personal is very friendly and the breakfast in "Gerards Kitchen" is very expensive, but good.
All together it was OK but almost to expensive for everything in the hotel.
The best was the ? shower head, what works very good, hot and really enough water. The best shower I had in DC in the past 10 years!
Rooms: Small but OK, very good shower.
Walkability: Next to a few shops, stores and restaurants. 10 by walk away from white house, Washington mall and "Black lives meters Plaza"
Food and drinks: Good dining and breakfast, but expensive in "Gerhards Kitchen"
