Tried making an appointment with Dermatology, while talking to a woman who sounded like she’s in her 20s-30s. The woman receptionist who works at the desk hung up on me as I was talking to her. Then I stayed on the phone line waiting for someone to speak. She hung up on me as I waited on the phone line. Very unprofessional and rude

This was honestly some of the worst care that I've ever had. The doctor's diagnosis was completely different than the biopsy result, even though the doctor didn't initially want to do a biopsy. I'm now convinced that the biopsy results were wrong as well, as I'm seeking advice from a different doctor. Also, I was given little to no treatment advice. I was not told that a biopsy would leave a scar, which would have been very nice to know. It seemed like they were more interested in rushing me out the door and collecting my insurance money than actually treating me like a patient. Go somewhere else.

Drove from Southern Maryland just to see a Urologist. Waited for 1 hour and 37 mins until finally seen by the ‘nurse’? They said there was a mistake and they have booked 2 patients at one time- 2 10am appointments unfortunately my dad is one of those. They may have not able to see him if I did not follow up at the front desk. At 11:37ish he was finally seen by the ‘nurse’? who again unfortunately does not have a sense of courteousness, I’m not even sure if she’s a nurse coz she is very rude. I looked at her computer credentials to find out her name is Christie I. At least the doctors are nice. The female resident and Dr. Patrick I like him he has good sense of humor.

This makes me sad to leave such a low comment because I had two really great interactions with this group. But I just called to find a new primary care. The person who answered was friendly, but told me I could not get an appointment until January. She did not inquire who I was - if I’m a Sibley patient (I’m a Sibley cancer patient). I moved here last summer and was diagnosed with cancer after several dismissive ER visits with Sibley. I thought I found a primary care at their I-street location. I like the doctor, but it’s a 40 minute wait each time I’ve seen her (one in person and one online with covid). So this morning I was 13 minutes late for my appointment because I got lost. They refused to see me. This is the day after a biopsy to determine if I have a secondary cancer. So I can wait the better part of an hour to see her, but the day I hobble in late - in pain and on a cane - I’m turned away. This is when I called to find another doctor at the Sibley location and am told January. It’s an unfortunate reality in DC right now, I understand. It’s also scary.

Going to echo the comments of others about the Dermatology office. I called to schedule an appointment at the Sibley office. Someone answered and took my information (name, address, DOB, medical concern). Then they forwarded me off to a scheduling center. That person took my name, address, DOB, insurance info, medical concern, etc. (collecting it all a second time). 15 minutes later they asked which location (which was weird since I called Sibley’s phone number). They then told me they have no availability. No concept of customer service.

I had an appointment with the Dermatologist last December and I checked when I made the appointment, when I called a month beforehand, and at the front desk, what the price was for the appointment. I had a rushed conversation with the doctor and paid the exact amount I agreed on, and I even asked "so I won't be getting any surprise bills right?" The lady said, no not unless I had a procedure. I told her I definitely hadn't. I STILL GOT SURPRISE BILLS! I had to call them to get them to stop billing me and they said they had forgotten to apply my payment. If I wasn't paying attention I would have just paid that off. How is this industry so disorganized when it comes to billing? What other industry sends surprise bills to you? I'm so tired of fighting these companies, and this is Johns Hopkins!

I as billed to my insurance 8K for my surgery- but I never received any surgical services. A drain was removed and that was supposed to be done at a post op visit- but they thought surgery was needed so we booked- only to find it started healing because it took so long to get to the surgery date. It lists 2 -4K charges for each 30 minute time increment - but according to the staff as well as my boyfriend- I was only in for 20 minutes.I am very disappointed from the care I have received at this hospital --aside from Dr. Manukyen who has been exceptional in how she has provide care. I was also billed for an ER visit on 12/8 where Dr. Adetunji Williams failed to treat my abscess in a successful way and didnt effectivley numb me- which led me to come back the very next day- where Dr. Manukyen did an amazing job making sure I not only had a painless experience - but actually healed me from the agony I was constantly suffering that was only prolonged by Dr. Adetunji Williams. All of this -as well as more charges from ER visits I had the same week that didn't conclude in any remedy to my condition. I will be updating my review of this hospital once again as the care hasn't reflected the John Hopkins reputation.

This review is for my experience at Johns Hopkins Dermatology.I was able to schedule online for an appt a month from the date of referral by my PCP at Hopkins. The front desk was ok, just doing her job without being friendly. I was waiting in an empty waiting area until 30 min past my appt time. Then the nurse took me to a patient room, telling me that the doc has a patient before me.Eventually, my dermatologist was 45 min late for my appt. She was effective, got me out in 15 min. No check out was needed because I didn't need a follow up appt.Coming from the Anne Arundel Co in order to get an appt sooner, I feel like I have spent a lot more time commuting (1.5 h each way when you count traffic) + waiting (45 min past appt time) than being at the appt.

Visited Sibley Memorial Hospital. 2nd worst experience at a hospital as it relates to wait times. The 1st worst was also at a Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) facility. That time we waited 8 hours to get a COVID test because they screwed up the test location for 2 if my kids. My son who is 2 weeks shy of 18 years old could not be seen at the COVID testing station because he is 17 really? When children reach the age of 17 1/2 they don't allow parents access to their record without permission from the child. But when we went to get tested for COVID, we were turned away because he was 17. They said we had to go to the ER for the test. We waited 6 hours just for a simple nose swab.keep in mind there was no wait at the testing station. I can't understand what's the difference in getting the test done just outside of the ER at the testing station and getting it in the ER. If people potentially have COVID and are coming to get tested, why are you having them sit in the ER waiting room for over 6 hours potentially contaminating others that are sick. I've never waited in a waiting room for ANYTHING at any other time to 6 hours

If you’re looking for quality care, this is not it. Truly the worst run practice/office that I have ever encountered.

Honestly some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Tried to make an appointment over the phone twice for my daughter and both times the ladies on the phone were extremely rude and unhelpful. Based off my experience and looking at other reviews this place has a huge problem with ill-mannered employees.

I visited Stefanie Schroeter for my annual checkup. She was nice and competent. However, I was required to designate her as my PCP or they wouldn't book the appointment.
Initial thoughts while booking the appointment- The people who answered the phone were very dismissive, short, and had a rude tone. I should've expected that was consistent with their office culture and how they treated patients... But I booked the appointment anyways.
The appointment went well. The front desk staff wasn't the friendliest. They honestly seemed a little stressed out and stiff with their tone... Not exactly a reassuring in-person first impression.
After the appointment I received a strange bill for $39.40... I called my insurance and apparently they billed my visit as two visits in one- a preventative annual checkup PLUS a regular office visit... That was a surprise because I only booked an annual physical. My insurance said it was billed incorrectly and Schroeter needed to change the visit from a regular office visit to a preventative one.
I called the doctors office a couple times unsuccessfully. They were short and not helpful over the phone. They also wouldn't leave a message for Schoeter or ask her to call me back. They said I needed to use MyChart. So I sent a message on MyChart… Long story short- I’ve gone back and forth with them for several days now and still no progress and no effort to communicate the issue to Schroeter.
They just lost a patient. I’m just going to pay the balance and not return. They’ve already wasted too much of my time and energy.
This place is a classic example of decent medical professionals surrounded by subpar office and medical staff.
