Hits and Misses at Embassy Suites Georgetown: My Honest ReviewLet's talk about my recent stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown, where the experiences ranged from eyebrow-raising to genuinely comforting.First up, the pool situation. It's supposed to be heated, but "chilly" is a more accurate description. Great for the kids who seem immune to cold but for the parents? Imagine taking a dip in a pool where the only thing thicker than the water is the chlorine. Seriously, after about 15 minutes, I had to bail because my lungs were protesting. And I wasn't alone; ran into folks in the elevator who were just as overwhelmed by the chlorine vibes. Then there were the surprise announcements: one day it's the water, the next day it's the electricity going off. These little morning surprises left us wondering what we signed up for. Definitely added a twist to our stay, but not in a fun way. Now, it wasn't all bumps in the road. The onsite restaurant really came through on those rainy days in March. It had good options that even the kids enjoyed, and the staff across the board were angels. Always helpful, always friendly – they were the real MVPs of our stay. But let's talk about Happy Hour and breakfast. If you were hoping for a chill time, think again. Finding a seat was like playing musical chairs, only there weren't enough chairs when the music stopped. And the breakfast line? Hope you’re not too hungry or in a hurry. Our first night was a bit of a sauna experience thanks to the AC in our room deciding to take the night off. Turns out, the last guest didn't want it on, and it seems like it just never got turned back on for us. At $400 a night, I was hoping for a bit more... comfort. The thing is, this hotel's got potential. It's close to everything, but in today's world, that's not enough to ignore the basics. Being an Uber away means location isn't everything it used to be.So, enough with the gripes. Honestly, all these issues seem fixable. It really comes down to paying attention to the little things and maybe tweaking how staff and maintenance plans are handled. This place could shine with a bit more attention to detail and a focus on smoothing out those service kinks. It's got all the makings of a great stay; it just needs a little nudge in the right direction.

I quite liked my stay at this place. It had quite an interesting vibe and feel to it that not many other hotels I've been to had. It's hard to describe, but the way the hotel is set up, it feels like the rooms are almost pods in a rainforest-like setting. Its cool but a bit, claustrophobic? The room itself was kept clean and tidy. I stayed in a room that had a spacious dining area and living area. The TV was nice, bed was comfortable and decently sized, too.The breakfast they served was pretty adequate. They had several kids of potatoes, cereal, pancakes, waffles, juice, yogurt, and so on. It was free with the stay. The stay was quite friendly and the lobby was very nice, too. Again, a slight jungle feel to it?All in all, I enjoyed my stay here. It was a fairly unique experience, but a nice one. I may come back here again.Rooms: Clean, lots of room, pretty high tech.Nearby activities: Cool restaurants, close to American University, GWU, etcWalkability: Fairly walkable. We walked to dinner when we went out.Food & drinks: Solid breakfast. See review for details

Great hotel for families visiting DC and area. Plenty of restaurants around, and even a great one in the lobby with a full bar. Afternoon reception is always good. A special drink is available. The bartenders are great! The breakfast is out of this world. The two people that work the omelette station are on FIRE!!! They need to be recognized among their peers! Front desk staff and managers are friendly. Your roomGets cleaned daily, and they do a great job!Rooms: Spacious rooms. Plenty of towels left daily.Nearby activities: Restaurants and a parkSafety: Felt safe around the hotel. The parking garage was safe with the closing doors.Walkability: Plenty of stores and drug stores around. Restaurants are in walking distance. Gas station at the end of the block.Food & drinks: Good selection at the shop. Great menu at the restaurant in the lobby. Plenty of restaurants in the area.Noteworthy details: Rooms are cleaned daily.Take the paper cup from your room if you want to go coffee. They are going green at this site, and do not have them downstairs. The parking garage is nice size for DC. You can fit a normal Tahoe or Yukon. A Suburban would be a very tight fit.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. No, it's not the Ritz Carlton, but it's perfect for trips to DC with friends and family, and it has great amenities. The rooms were large and we had plenty of room for 3 people. Fridge and microwave were great to have in the room. We were amazed by the breakfast and how they had an omelette station. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and waffles/pancakes/or French toast every morning. Every evening you get 2 complimentary drinks at the bar during reception hours. The restaurant is convenient but not the best food and kind of pricey. We were there during spring break and the wait for food/drinks was long. Hopefully it's not like that year round. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel! Very clean and very accommodating. There is a small pool and jacuzzi as well. Some of the women receptionist were rude. Seemed a little impatient and agitated when I asked questions … but everyone else , bartenders, housekeeping, servers, and the manager very nice. I’m from the south so I’m not sure if this is a northern thing but parking is crazy there is parking at the hotel but it’s between $50-$60 per day. I do believe there is a discount however. But in that area, everything is within walking distance restaurants the White House, the monument, all within walking distance.

I’m a Diamond member with HH also a HGVCMax member. This trip was great for my birthday weekend. Rooms were a bit smaller on resort standards. But customer service made up for it.Two that stood up for me was the ladies at the Tap Room Restaurant Nebiat and Rachell. They went above and beyond. Even though the happy hour was for free they still had happy faces treated us as paying and tipping guests. I was so impressed by their hospitality.

Beds felt lumpy and aggravated my back. Thermostat bumped up to 78 but room was cold. Left do not disturb on floor when leaving for the day, and it was still there after room was cleaned. Great attention to detail (not), and I guess it was no vacuum day. Walls are thin and I can hear neighbors cough, laugh, etc.Breakfast is okay. Same selection daily. Similar to a Holiday Inn besides custom station which is decent if you arrive early. Destination fee ripoff is real, forcing you to spend $25 or lose it at their restaurant with okay food.Good fitness amenities. Servers are awesome. Atrium is nice. Location is great.Overall, not coming back.

The wifi cuts out for 5 minutes every few hours, so this is a challenging hotel to work from. Besides that, it's well run and in a great location.
