I had a wonderful experience with this business during my deck project in 2021, and I have been enthusiastically recommending them to others. However, my recent visit with a dear friend who needed assistance with a large deck and front patio project was quite disappointing. The customer service provided by the representative at the front desk was clumsy and careless. Despite arriving with detailed measurements and a blueprint, the representative refused to assist us and insisted that we should come with a contractor or an engineer for estimates.During my own project, I recall receiving excellent guidance and support from a representative who helped me make the right choices. Unfortunately, this time, the front desk representative was not helpful at all. When we requested information about the different types of Trex they offered and their pricing, she showed little interest and simply handed us a sales rep's business card, asking us to contact them for any help.Regrettably, we were left with no choice but to leave, as we were not receiving the information or assistance we needed. I am unsure if there have been changes or issues within the business, and I prefer not to leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my disappointing experience.

The place is a rip off.Charged me double for everything. Went to Home Depot everything I purchased was almost half the price. When I called to see if they can refund or credit me o was told they’ll be a 15% restocking fee.Straight up thievery.What restocking I picked up everything your lazy employees couldn’t be bothered to bring the wood and other things to me.Wonder why these mom and pops places belly up. STOP RIPPING YOUR CUSTOMERS OFF!

Amazing Customer Service. I didn’t know where to begin and David helped me with my project from start to finish. He answered all of my crazy questions and there were a lot of them and he had the patience of a saint. I promise I will be back again just because of him. I appreciate his help so much.

I prefer West Haven over other lumberyards in the area mostly for their range. They have everything, from modestly priced materials to premium lumber, which is perfect for contractors like me that work with a wide array of clients, each with their own financial preferences and limitations. The only flaw in the West Haven business model is their off-site customer service. You may spend hours just to find the right person to talk to. If they can get people with the same level of expertise as their on-site sales team handling the phones, they will definitely get more business than they do now.

I wanted to call the office to find out if my back ordered materials arrived. I called three separate times each time I did not get answered I had to leave a message. This is poor quality customer service

Your better off not even bothering with this company, poor communication never answer the phone or return calls! I had them deliver $3,000 in trex they damaged my customers fence when dropping the decking off back in November of 2020 nothing go done about it I tried to be fair and give them time to repair and still worked with them. Well here we are 10 months later Fence still broken I can for material quotes no one answers the phone or returns calls worst company you can go with call Oxford lumber instead tell them you usually use west haven and they will set you up sad to see this lumber yard go to waste they just redid it and now looking like they need need employees

Terrible company. I submitted a request for a take off over three months ago and still haven’t received it. No one returns calls. Take your business elsewhere.

I contacted west haven lumber as a first time buyer looking for lumber for a beam that I was installing at my new home. Sebastian helped me get the required beam calculation done promptly. I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were. I was able to use the calculation in order to get the building permit for my house also. I had called other lumber yards and they didn’t make any effort to help me. Maybe because mine is a small project. Thanks to Sebastian and west haven lumber for your courteous service. I will bring my business here and recommend you to everyone I know.

I came here to get materials for my deck. The sales staff on site was extremely helpful in helping me choose a color that matched my home and find a price for my budget. I worked primarily with sebastian but others were more than willing to answer my questions while sebastian went out of his way to find my sample colors. i will come here for all my future projects
