As usual hard to find staff and get help and when I did they were as helpful as a dead car battery. I wound up leaving with only one of three items that I needed because no one had an answer to the questions I had about the other two items. So now I will go to a mom and pop store tomorrow with employees that can help me. Why is it that it is a known fact that Home Depot is generally not helpful but yet nothing is done about it? I’m saying this only because if you supply the customers with the information they need and the products that will do what they need then your profits go up and they customers are satisfied and will always return knowing they will be supplied the knowledge and products they need.

in the electrical department there is always a very small selection of materials, half the shelves are empty, it’s a mess. In other stores the situation is completely different. an example would be Glastonburry

Yikes. It's notable I've come here more than a handful of times and haven't previously had any issues. The common denominator in all of those previous instances is that I didn't require any assistance. Today my family needed to speak to someone to buy doors and initiate door installation service. We were told two people were working the area who could help us. We waited patiently for over an hour - we were never even given the opportunity to ask how long the wait would be. In fact, the person working the area (who was helping 1 other person the whole time) only acknowledged our presence when he somewhat rudely told an older gentleman he would have to wait to have his question answered because we were next. Ultimately we decided to leave and will likely not be coming back.

Went in to fix and buys some doors. This store had everything I needed: Wood metal fence and two doors for self install. Didn't need to look around like people seem to say. There's employees everywhere waiting to help out. All you got to do is look. They have supplies well stocked too. No problem with this here store. I like it.

Need lots of unpromisingWhen you search online for product website shows, there are plenty of stock in West Hartford store. When you go to store you never find it. You have to spend a lot of time to find associate who can help you after getting that help you feel that within no time you’re going to get that item and you never get thatAlmost every time same story2 stars because of few good employees who really want to help customers and really working hard

Idiots sold me a propane tank stuck in the open position. Tried pliers and everything I can to close it. Now I can’t bring it back because if I disconnect the hose it shoots propane all over the place. Don’t ever buy a propane tank from this place

The most unfriendly staff. I said hello to one employee, (guy collecting carriages) and he just looked through me and ignored me. And yes, he definitely heard me. Then the cashier looked angry so I said hello and tried to joke with her as she rang up my stuff. She just rolled her eyes, said nothing and sat there. This isn't the first time the employees at this store were horrible. It's routine and apparently accepted by management. There are other choices for improvement stores so I'll be giving them my money from now on.

The absolute worse HD by far!!! They NEVER are staffed and no one is ever available to answer questions. Placed a online order to store and they sat on it for hours! No one even attempted to pull the items by end of day. The order just sat there. I ordered it there because I was gonna be in the area and what a waste of time. I canceled my order and placed it at the blue box store and they had my order ready in a couple hours. This store is so hopeless. I avoid it like the plague and dread going even when I almost don't have a choice. This store has been like this for years and no one seems to be interested in changing the culture there.

Newest experience: today, 6/24/2023 @ about 5:30. I need ten flat paint colors in sample size. Arthur (I believe — it was written in red marker on his apron/uniform) has three customers waiting to be helped, but he is very concerned with the rubber mats because he cleans them vigorously... Five minutes later it's my time and I hand Arthur my color choice cards. Calmly, he took one by one and typed their codes in the computer (I asked if the scanner was broken and he confirmed). Typing everything down is not an easy task and when all is done five more minutes passed. The people behind me are getting restless and it makes sense because they have little ones that surprisingly don't know how to wait patiently!Arthur leaves the counter and I am guessing he's looking to get the base color for the flat finish I requested. He returns empty handed stating that the only finish they have was eggshell! I am frustrated to have waited so long for nothing, and I tell Arthur that maybe checking first if the flat base color was there to begin with would have been a better approach. He is shocked and fires back with the classic, "why are you speaking to me like that?" I was nothing but polite and respectful, so I have no idea what he is talking about. He asks again the same "speaking to me like that" question and I still see nothing wrong with me speaking to him. In an associate to a customer conversation, the associate apologizes for the misunderstanding and everyone leaves the said conversation feeling a little guilty for feeding fuel to a... misunderstanding. Not Arthur! Arthur decided to challenge the customer (me) with "And what are you going to do about it?!"I left knowing that everything that needed to be said, was said. My writing this review was meant to be a complaint but, I just want to thank Arthur for saving me around $70 and the future time I will not spend if I need paint again!
