I was really happy to find out that there is an Eastern Mountain Sports in Connecticut. It was really popular some years ago when they had so many stores. Right now this is the only store in Connecticut, but one of the workers there told me that they're opening another one in Manchester, Connecticut. That's great! It's an awesome store. This store is right next to Bob's. One of the workers told me that the owner owns both stores. The Bob's side has the toilets. The workers are helpful. There's a good selection of outdoors stuff. You can become a member for free, and you get money back and coupons. There were already some Black Friday deals out. They had a sign that you can rent stuff too. Great store!

EMS is one of the few remaining store fronts to get good quality hiking gear. I recently purchased a new pair of boots in preparation for hiking the White Mtns and the staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and they had my size in stock. Refund policy was clearly explained and I spent a couple days wearing my boots indoors only as they mentioned. Thanks for being such a dependable supplier of outdoor equipment!

Bought my son $100 winter boots. They didn’t fit and guess what… they have a store policy that is not to return your money but to only offer you store credit. Thanks to there policy I am going to make sure I don’t spend a single dime there for the next couple years since they want my money that bad. Worst policy I’ve ever heard of. Shame shame shame you lost me as a customer then

Buyer beware. The store return policy was not made clear when i made my purchase. It unfortunately didn’t work out and i had to return it, but you can only get store credit. No refunds. What chain store does that? Not a good sign.

Great customer service! Broad selection of outdoor apparel and some really unique and specialized outdoor items make the store a little gem!

Store only does store credit or exchange, even when items returned within a day or two and with a receipt.

Bought my son $100 boots assuming they would fit. They didn't fit!!! They don't take returns! They don't return your money to you! It's my money. So this year I Vogue to not spend a single dollar at this store. They want my money that bad I'm not giving them another cent!!!!

Always a nice place to shop for outdoor activities. They carry an astonishing variety of freeze dried foods. Clerks are very knowledgeable and helpful if you need them to be.

I have shopped at ems for over 25 years. I enjoy a number of outdoor activities and ems was a great place to get gear. Things have changed for the worse in the last few years. The selection of non ems branded gear has decreased significantly. They used to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on their products. That is gone. My wife got me some smartwool thermals for Christmas. They did not fit so o returned them. Only given store credit. They did not have my boot size in stock. Was told to go to the website. The website says that gift cards are “temporarily disabled.” It is now mid April and gift cards still do not work. These guys are making it tough to support local Brick and mortar stores with their policy changes and lack of selection outside of their own brand.
