This was my first experience with H&R Block and it was a wholly negative one. We usually use TurboTax or other self-serve options for tax prep, but opted to go with H&R Block this year as our taxes were more complicated. The "tax pro" assigned to me failed to return messages for weeks, reaching out only on tax day after I left a message with his branch. He urgently needed information from me, but could only receive said information whenever he had a chance to call back. He missed a scheduled appointment by hours (again on tax day), and ultimately failed to file on time (according to their tax tracker on their website). My tax return was then rejected by the IRS, and that still hasn't been rectified (and my tax pro still won't return messages about this). If H&R's goal is for their brand to be associated with a generalized lack of professionalism and competency, then this has been a rousing success.

Elizabeth Ruff messed up my taxes so I still have yet to get my refund. Jimmy the general branch has not called me back and the when I do get him on the phone he is disgustingly rude and the district manager is also no help multiple emails with no resolution. The H and R hotline basically told me I am out of luck and won't get my money back. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Tax professional was knowledgeable and taxes were done in timely fashion however their fee is extremely expensive.

Unprofessional!! i dropped off taxes on Friday for a Tuesday of the following week pickup. I received no phone call so I finally called on Thursday..... nobody in the Trumbull location even knew I had dropped off my paperwork... how is this possible? If you can use a tax product do it. These people are untrained everyday people that plug numbers into an H&R Block labeled software program same as you can do with other software.... their protection guarantee..... make sure you ask a bunch of questions about that as well because if you need to use it you will be as surprised as I was.When I was told I could come pickup my paperwork that hadn't been worked on in 4 business days I also had to wait for over a half hour before someone could pull it out of the cabinet it was put in from day one. Another piece of advice...be careful with your tax information I was able to pickup mine without showing any identification.... that's really sad.

Filed my 2022 taxes here because the tax person I usually use wasn't available. This lady was very SLOW and I was there for 2 hours! Now I find out that they never took out money from my return and I have debt? $700???? Are you kidding me????? What did I pay you for??! 1 star. Unprofessional. Wouldn't recommend to anybody. Mario Rodriguez in the orange location is wonderful, and I'm out of his office in less than a half hour with all my info right!!!
