The woman answering the phones at the front desk was the most rude employee I have ever come across. She was not helpful and lied about how to transfer cars. The customer service experience was disgusting. I’m never coming back here

I was given a STOLEN VEHICLE and had to local police pull me over and detain me. AVIS did not help me at all, and Nothing has been resolved due to THEIR MISTAKE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm still waiting to hear back from corporate to resolve this issue and nothing has happened. PLEASE DO NOT give them business or rent from them.

Starting using this location again about a year ago. Very convenient to the train station across the street. The ladies at the front counter are always friendly, professional, and fast even when there are 50 people waiting in the foyer screaming for a car. The cars are clean and fresh. Even when Avis oversells this location, the people here do their best juggling act to find a car for you. Avis needs more locations like this.

I was coming in from the city to get the car that I was to pick up at just before 2pm on Sat 9/9. The 1:55pm train didn't arrive at Stamford station until 2:05pm and I did not realize this location closes at 2pm on Saturdays, Even though the place had just closed, the female that works there was still there 10 mins after closing time and she was able to get me a vehicle. I really appreciate her understanding about the late train and honoring my reservation after the closing time. She went above and beyond!

Something seems broken with the process at this Avis. It took 15min to check in each customer - all of whom already had a reservation. The line had 4 customers and took an hour for us to be served. It was unclear what took so long between checking a drivers license and charging a credit card

We’ve been coming to this Avis / Budget for the last 6 years. We can speak to their consistency of service and quality of cars since we come here every few months. We especially love Lercy who greets us with smile and professionalism. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

Had a car since the end of January. Constant money being taking out, missed communication, rules constantly changing. Sometimes two payments for a week. Always turning my uber app off once I paid then barely picking up. Constantly driving to Stamford from new haven. Sometimes I was late but still end up paying. They took the car and then charged my card over 2000. Worst car experience

They should just tell people :" hey whatever car we have on the lot that day and time ,that's the car you can drive"...why bother with a reservation??

Had a reservation for 2pm to rent a gas car for my Uber driving called ahead of time asked if I'd reached corporate or actual office in Stamford wich was confirmed I explained I needed to confirm that their was a gas car rental available for Uber female representative said hold on I told her to take her time she then replied yes we have a car available for you come down I will be here I told her I'd be there in 45 minute's gps states 2:03 pm she said ok 45 minute's later I walk in the rudeness was turned on before I reached the counter she said very rude and standoffish "oh we don't have any Uber car's you must of talked to corporate you didn't talk to me I haven't had any conversations with anyone today I said so you receive & see reservations you could call as a courtesy to let people know you can't honor their reservations I didn't appreciate her position to have had opportunity not to water anyone's time or money spent to come for a rental they don't have honestly this is the 3rd hertz that has done this to me 1st Wallingford hertz, then Hartford hertz and now Stamford right now I have an electric car it's smooth take off convenient to shift gear's but not worth the hassle with the app to charge only a few chargers in unsafe areas not well area's they say their fast chargers it takes over an hour to fully charge after locating a charger it's too time consuming I'd rather spend $50 bikes for gas fill up in a few minutes and get this money time is money the waisted time spent to charge I'm missing money I don't like electric car's when I drive for a living money is time and time is money one thing about time you can't take any back this car I will take back when they begin renting gas car's for Uber please let me know electric isn't for me thank you

All the personnel is super rude on the phone and in person. They don't care about the customer or the business. Don't even bother to go to the Stamford succursal the lady at the counter is extremely useless and mean. In our call she yelled at me and told me not to go to the business because they were closing in 1 HOUR, in person she laughed at me and ask me to leave the place when I couldn't rent a car. Definitely not a great experience.

Potential SCAM alert. I returned the car with more than the full tank and took the picture for evidence because I read someone else posted that they were secretly charging for “fuel services” even we returned full. I refueled the tank right before returning the car even though I only drove a few miles. Most of the time we are staying in the hotel for events.Interestingly I experienced the same thing. Luckily I saved the picture before returning it as a defensive mechanism used for credit card dispute. I was outrageous.3 star because the customer service quickly addressed the issue, however I will avoid this AVIS station for their dishonest behavior.

Smooth rental experience, although I got a minivan with a lot of exterior damage instead of the intermediate SUV I reserved. The person at the counter was apologetic and said that the SUV he had held for me was unavailable due to a safety recall. Overall would return in the future, especially given the discount I get from my company.
