Business says, their family owned and operated, just WHAT KIND Of FAMILY , I asK.On 2/12/23, needed to sell my 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe k1500 under 130,000 miles, because I just became homebound and can't use right now, I'm 55, disabled and handicapped. Spoke to John- boss , offered 550.00 with a catalytic converter without 150.00. The catalytic converter WAS INdeed there.. Sean came with tow truck, he gave a stipulation, which was NEVER DISCLOSED when I had spoken with the boss. Sean offered 250.00, I had asked if he'd kindly get my CD out from Cd player, said sure. While the tow truck was hooking up the vehicle, I remembered I needed my plates, no way to contact him, thinking he works in the automotive industry he'd bring both to me, but heard the tow truck drive away without my Cd and or plates.. Next morning 2/12 at 9:12am I messaged the business to please mail me my plates, the business replied asking me to Remove the previous review that l had written, I did Remove, assuming it was John- said he'd come to my home himself to rectify- straighten out this situation, waited ALL DAY, no ETA, messaged him at 3:59pm to give me an ETA, no word, @ 4:31pm Still nothing, messaged again , business closes at 6pm, NO WORD, or CALL , all day .. How honorable and TRUE To the WORDS spoken by a boss. SHAME ON YOU, for taking advantage of a Disabled woman in a tough situation.- Prospect Automotive : how are you going to rectify your ways and previous actions ,in this matter, now that your credibility doesn't exist?

Made an appointment for a tire rotation and oil change a week before the appointment date. Showed up to the appointment and the entire facility was closed. It was 10:00 there were no one at the front desk the doors were locked the garage doors were closed and no one responded to my call. Maybe something happened to the people there and nobody knew. Who knows. Not a great first impression.

Where do I start ...had discovered and used their services couple times before ..and was ..amazed at how patient helpful .. genuinely nice ..every person I talked with ..owner ..mechanic ..office manager ...their goal ..was so...inline with my goals...get and keep my car on the road ...by providing timely ..quality repairs and maintenance at a fair competitive price ...on that note ..some of their prices ..seemed to be ..? Let's say ...mirroring my budget ..which at the time ..was ...I needed as much quality help ..for the best price possible ..and they delivered in spades ...I was so happy ...example : one of my relatively new Michelin tires was causing me grief ..very slow leek ..had to add air every 24 hours ...went to other mechanic ..who installed for say 20 bucks ..they checked again and charged me another 20 bucks ..ugg ..I go to Prospect Auto ..bam ..probably solved ..closer to 15. No more low air notice ...priceless ...So why would I or anyone else ...But I erred ...and do to ..low finances ..tried to ..save a few pennies and have backyard mechanic ..mobile mechanic ..Install parts I got pretty cheap online ..WRONG...they didn't show up ... arbitrary prices ..Then ...left car almost un towable due to front axle ..off ..wheel and rim off...Embarrassed by my ..penny wise and dollar foolish ..strategy I called Prospect Auto ...Quickly ... professionally ..they miraculously towed my car ..and again exceeded all my expectations ...so nice to find a business who knows their business ..and appreciates their customers ...even if they don't have unlimited cash :)Services: Oil change

I called to schedule a belt tensioner and serpentine belt repair. They scheduled me for the next day. I added an oil change and an air condition service. My truck was repaired that day. I appreciate that they did not try to oversell services and that their prices are very reasonable.Services: Air conditioning

I started using prospect auto being they are a local business here in prospect I’m a firm believer in using locals wish prospect residents felt the same. Anyway. Workers at prospect automotive all. Are pleasant yo deal with. Always stay ahead of things like calling and giving $ amounts on anything they’ve done for Unlimited Roofing.And a extra plus they are quick to the job and very reasonable prices.This is a new company they’ll just get better. I’m opinion this is a great addition to the prospect business's. They also have emergency service and actually show up. And I know who tough that is. I Bought a car from this place, the Car broke down 10-15 minutes down the street. The 2 men I dealt with were very rude and disrespectful. 1 of them wasn't too bad but said call me if u have any problems, I called him to be ignored. The car blew up, they gave me no bill of sale, come to find out theres a lien on the title. Real stand up guys, I got a better chance buying a car from the north end of Hartford. 0 stars

I called Prospect Automotive because I needed a tow job and wanted to bring my vehicle home from church. After agreeing that it couldn’t be done without damaging my vehicle, I started getting harassing phone calls from Tom that I still owed him money. I told him I wasn’t going to pay him because they couldn’t and did not tow my car. Tom took it upon himself to illegally tow my car and called the police stating I was illegally parked. Be careful with this place. They will do anything to make money. I would rate them a zero if I could.

I called Prospect Automotive for a tow job because I didn't want to leave my car at my church parking lot overnight. They weren't able to tow my car safely so we decided to leave it there and we agreed there was no charge. Once I got home at midnight, I started to get harassing phone calls from Tom stating that I still had to pay them. I said no because they weren't able to tow my car and he illegally towed my car anyway and called the police stating that I was illegally parked which was a lie. Be careful with this place. They will do anything to make some money. Beware!

This is by far, in my experience, one of the best Auto shops I've been to in years. They treat you well, keep you informed of your vehicles progress, very reasonable in price, service is done in adequate time and most of all, job is done correctly.They have earned a valued customer with me, my family and my friends.Services: Wheel alignment

Our start was very rough. This is why I waited before posting anything negative. Since then, T J and his staff have stepped up their game. He's a hard working young man, with a lot on his plate, but he keeps it going. He has made a name for himself. He has really built quite the empire through his different ventures. At his young age, it's amazing to me. He's made very good investments with his life and he is a great provider for his beautiful girlfriend and mother to his son. I would highly recommend him for auto sales and repairs. He'll work with you. The whole staff is great to deal with.

Absolutely terrible. Worst experience. Do not bring your car there. I wouldn’t trust them to fix a bicycle. Damaged three of my cars. Lied numerous times about work being completed when it never was. Had one of my vehicles for three months. Dented rear quarter panel on one, melted from bumper on another with shop heater, bashed the door in on a third vehicle. Left my convertible top down during a snowstorm with car outside. Fourth vehicle was brought in for a new windshield. They never reconnected my wipers. Every time I brought a vehicle there the bill was ridiculous. They perform unauthorized work. Three vehicles damaged in one week. They could care less. They are not qualified or trustworthy enough to put gas in a car no matter perform repairs.i wish google would let me leave a separate review for each vehicle. They have worked on five vehicles and not one was done right or on time. The high school automotive shop would be more reliable. If I was looking to junk a car I would bring it there. Should be advertised as a scrap yard instead of an auto repair shop.

I originally purchased a Buick Rendezvous for $3,500 I paid cash when I went to pick it up the next day the owner claimed it was being detailed the next day it was getting tuned up the next day emission. For the next month no response.Finally after a little over a month and spending money on insurance for the Buick I went to Prospect Auto and Tom the owner offered me a Cadillac. This car they passed for inspection. The check engine light is on misfire no brakes right rear caliper seized the pads and rotors are shot there was very little very old black motor oil PCV was disconnected the stabilitrak is acting up the floors were flooded due to the A/C condenser being clogged and leaking inside of the vehicle. The door locks and alarm dash cluster and heated seats usually don’t work. The left rear window goes down on its own.He was supposed to repair these issues but does not answer or simply just left on a test drive and will be returning my call but never seems to finish that test drive.This company takes advantage of people with delivery and repair promises that do not happen.READ ANY CONTRACT

Be careful with this place. I called them last Tuesday night because I needed a tow. They couldn’t accommodate me to take my vehicle safely but wanted me to pay them anyway. I got home practically at midnight and started to get harassing phone calls from Tom telling me that I still have to pay him because I refused to let him force my vehicle onto his tow even thought he could ruin my vehicle by doing that. He decided that he would tow my vehicle (stole it) without my consent to force me to pay him and called the Shelton police stating I was trespassing at my church to cover himself. Who does that? Could you believe it! Then covered themselves by notifying the Shelton police who refused to help me locate my car for several hours until I contacted a Sargent Be careful! They are out to take advantage of people and do not have a problem illegally towing people and get away with it. They care more about making some money. Tom did not get to make any money off of me but thought he could harass me and scare me into doing it. I guess he met his match. Tom cut it out!

Wonderful family business, friendly staff, knowledgeable, quick to quote and repair, affordable, and the little guy is such a gentleman! Theiefs they stole my money that I work hard for me and my family ! They kept my truck for 2 nonths keep lying to me that it will be done every day and I trusted them ! The truck its not fixed and the charged me $1400.00. I will report this business at small business bureau.Its not done ! Do not do business with them.Horrible customer service. They took away my children bread and hopefully GOD punish them in their children also ! I will see them in court! . Do not trust them .!Service: Check engine light diagnostic
