I requested to be moved to a room that got more light and was moved to a room on the 6th floor. Was there to check out the university. I didn't like that you had to go past the bar area, across from the elevators, but then you move and through an additional door that cuts down the noise. I was so glad I stayed in room 609 so I didn't get a ton of noise. My recommendation is get a room away from the elevators. The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. The hotel soap is an scent that I think is an acquired taste, so you may want to remember to bring your own, as I didn't find the local CVS well stocked.
My issue was the room was not super clean when I came in, but I just wiped down the desk chair myself and that area. Didn't see it until I pulled out the chair.
There are supposed to be cameras on that floor, and when I came back from having been out someone had clearly been in my room. Not okay. Clothing was smelly like it had been tried on. I brought clean nice smelling clothes. Also they stole the contents of a lotion, dumping something else in it instead. Just weird.
The next day my room was cleaned really well, and towels clean and replenished. So maybe a different staff was the cleaner?
I went to check out early to make a morning meeting, and staff told me I had room charges, I said I should have any additional charges, then she said let me check. Then told me she meant the charges for the stay of the room, and that there was nothing additional. It was just a little miscommunication, but we got it cleared up quickly.
My issue was you can hear folks in the hall pretty clearly, which I did not like. They need to do more sound proofing. Also the wall was somehow loose and sediment coming down by the plugs closest to the kitchen next to the closets. Like I would move around the wood with my hand loose and it should be attached to the wall.
I would recommend doing a thorough check of your room when you arrive. I think I would prefer to stay at a location closer, but I appreciated that when folks weren't roaming the halls, it was quiet, which I needed.
Staff were accommodating on that front, and I was quickly given extra towels when I requested them, and lotion to replace what I had taken.
Final Thoughts:
I think access to a mini-kitchen where you can have a kettle for tea, and a mini fridge is nice, but it just didn't feel worth the money.

The rooms are beautiful, the lobby and hotel staff were great ! The only issue is that there are reasons hotels use carpet in the bedrooms! Been up for hours listening to the clog party upstairs. Horrible design idea, looks great but isn’t practical .
Rooms: No carpet, stinks for the people below you

I first visited the hotel earlier this year as part of the Black Wall Street Festival team and was immediately impressed by the beautiful, modern lobby and amenities. That experience led me to book the hotel for a high-profile client who was in town for another event I was managing for the City of New Haven.
Chris, the Office Manager, and the entire staff were incredibly helpful and professional! They accommodated her in a quieter area of the hotel, ensured all her requests were met, and answered my every call with care and attentiveness. Their exceptional service made my client feel respected and well-cared for.
I truly appreciate the staff’s efforts and will absolutely book this hotel for future clients and personal stays.

I highly recommend this hotel. Our family visited New Haven recently and decided to spend the night here.
Firstly, there are a lot of tourist spots nearby like Yale University, New Haven Greens and had a grocery store nearby.
Also, the room was spacious and had a fabulous view of the college.
The room had everything we needed like a small but spotless kitchen, a dishwasher, and you could do the laundry in the 6th floor.
And finally, we got an unexpected gift for my child and it was so nice of them.
They were also kind and helped us whenever we needed help.
I would definately visit this fantastic hotel when we visit New Haven again.

Nice hotel in New Haven minutes away from Union station and walkable from Yale university. Staff are friendly and understanding. Coffee available at reception from 6 am and there is a counter for a grab and go breakfast .The restaurant wasn't open to all om weekdays perhaps due to private functions and the bar on the 6th floor was also catering to a private event on the day I visited. The in-house restaurant was open on Thursday night and provided good italian fare. The rooms are well appointed more of a studio apartment and replete with a microwave, electric stove, utensils, tableware dishwasher, and refrigerator. A pleasant stay indeed!

Unfortunately having to leave this review after trying to get a hold of management for over a month. We stayed here 2 nights with a room block for a wedding as I was in the bridal party. The morning of the wedding, we found a RAT in our room. It ran out from underneath the mini fridge, which also wasn’t working, and was running around our room. They were able to switch our room, which was fine, but I was in the middle of getting ready as a member of the wedding on the wedding morning, and this took an hour out of prep and no one knew where I disappeared to. I was told by multiple hotel staff members they would “do something for us” and that the first night should be comped as we spent the whole night with a rat in the room. Upon checking out, I was told that only the manager had the authority to take charges off, so to call back. It was a holiday weekend, so she wasn’t there. I then spent every day calling and asking for her, leaving my name and number, and being transferred to her voicemail. This is disgusting and I wouldn’t recommended this experience to anyone in the New Haven area.

While in town visiting Yale, we stayed at the Blake hotel. The Blake hotel is a very classy hotel with big, modern rooms. Tiny details matter, and the Blake hotel lived up to all of my standards. The towels were big. The shower products were upscale and pleasant to use. The beds were comfy and so were the pillows. Even the clock on the nightstand was very neat.
Of course, it’s in the middle of New Haven, so once you step outside of the hotel you’re surrounded by people passed out on the street, but inside the hotel is very safe and clean.

If you're staying in New Haven, The Blake Hotel is the place to be. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by an immaculate, stylish environment that makes you feel like you're either at home or starring in a movie. The hotel's aesthetic is perfect, exuding both comfort and luxury.
The rooftop bar is the ideal spot to unwind, while the on-site restaurant serves up some of the best cuisine you'll find in the area. Every corner of The Blake is meticulously maintained, ensuring a consistently clean and pleasant experience.
A special shout-out to the exceptional staff—Paul, Jenny, Bianca, Stephan, Michael, Patrick, and many others. Their warmth and professionalism stand out. Every staff member, regardless of their role, went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. I didn't encounter a single rude person during my stay.
My visit to The Blake coincided with a difficult time as my grandma was at Yale ICU. The staff's kindness and attentiveness made me feel as though I was staying with family. Their care and dedication provided immense comfort during a challenging period.
If I'm ever in New Haven again, I will undoubtedly return to The Blake Hotel. It truly is a home away from home.

I cannot say enough great things about this place, we stay at The Blake every time we come to town. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, it’s very clean, and it has such a nice atmosphere. The staff at every point are always super welcoming and friendly, and we love the rooftop lounge. Parking can be pretty chaotic, but the valet staff run a tight ship and make it work really well. This place will always be our first choice!

Really really liked this place’s atmosphere. Straight to it, we’re giving it 4 stars because we’re currently dealing with a (drumroll…) BEDBUG scare! ? Woke up this morning and my wife had a dozen bites along her legs (updated count is 17). We are desperately trying to convince ourselves this was mosquitoes from walking outside the night before…but we weren’t out all that long and also took note of no bugs at all throughout the evening. We checked the bed and room all over and there were no signs of bedbugs, so clearly no infestation, but if you know anything about bedbugs you know that it just takes a couple to cause damage and make you lose your mind. And they’re VERY hard to find if you don’t have an infestation.
Minus this scare, we really adored this place. $300 for the room for one night.
Things at least appeared VERY clean and modern.
Very good sized room with a comfortable bed.
Staff was also very pleasant.
We LOVED the rooftop bar and had a wonderful dinner there as well.
I parked right across the street in a garage, $20 for 24 hours (well $23 because I went four minutes over). BUT, free EV charging! (2 spots marked as Yale University parking only, the other 2 spots marked as Hospital parking only…I risked it and didn’t have an issue.)
Great location, can walk to so many things so comfortably!
Only other complaint is that the TV’s only app is Netflix, and we’d wanted to watch one of two shows…which of course are only on Hulu and Disney. But YouTube worked fine at least. ALSO the TV’s having the horrendous motion smoothing locked on…which makes you want to throw yourself out the window ALMOST as much as having bedbugs.

Fantastic hotel in walking distance to many great restaurants. The rooms are fantastic, and it was a nice retreat with our 2 month old baby. Very accommodating, and the kitchenette made us feel like we were home.

Walkability: A very short walk to many restaurants, shops, and the Yale campus.
