They are always so nice here. They helped me pick out a great bottle for my dads 70th and he loved it! This bottle was limited on the number of batches they made and it was soooo great.

I absolutely love this store. They have a great selection, and are always very friendly and helpful. They’re also one of the few stores left in Connecticut that don’t price gouge their customers on bourbon and tequila bottles.

Franco's is a treasure in New Canaan! We have been customers for 25 years. Their offerings, service, and knowledge are top notch. They will bring items to your car and also offer free delivery. When we have parties and over order wine, they will reimburse us for anything unopened. I highly recommend this business!

I have been coming here for years. I really know absolutely nothing about wine, and yet ... I am extremely picky. I have gone to many shops in the local towns, and this is by far my favorite. The selection of wine and spirits is broad and all the people here are helpful and consistent. In all the years of coming here, I've only ever disliked one bottle of wine, and that was when I purchased a lot of different bottles of the same grape in order to figure out what type I liked best. I know that I can rely on their advice without tasting in advance, and I often do that for special events and holidays. Also, when I recently asked for a bottle of liquor that is very hard to find, they got it for me within two weeks. Finally, they have shipped wine for me when I needed to send gifts, and it all arrived beautifully. It's so nice to have this shop as a resource!

Doesn't it feel great when you found a store that offers more than what you've expected? Crazy, your shopping mood just goes through the roof and it brightens up your day! This is exacting what happened when I came across Franco's wine merchants located in New Canaan, CT. I stumbled on to this store buy clicking through wine-searcher.com in conquest to searching for my beloved prized pinot noir, the 2014 Domaine Eden pinot noir from Santa Cruz, CA. Just when I thought I had to give up and settle for the newly launched 2015 bottle, wine-searcher stated Franco's had some available. Given that I originally grew up in Westchester, I knew where New Canaan was but I now reside in Saratoga Springs, NY. I assumed because I was purchasing online I thought I could have these shipped to my doorstep. When I called to confirm, David the gentleman assisting me said it wasn't possible b/c CT state doesn't allow wine to be shipped to NY. I told David, "no problem, I will be there to pick them up" after 2 and a half hour road trip, I arrived on elm st. (It's a beautiful strip that reminds you of any upscale hamptons like main st) I walked in and was greeted by mark, and his assistant (blonde woman who I can't remember her name) but we're both extremely genuine and helpful. Immediately you can tell that this was a gem of a wine store. They were such rare and desirable wines that you would only find in boutique wine stores and they had all the desirable exotic wines as well. It was to a point where I walked back in and out 3 times and I kept on buying something each time (I mean, it was a long trip just for wine, so I made the most of it.) I truly admire their wine store, it has all the good tasting and hard to acquire wine with very low prices (they beat my local wine store, empire wine in Albany, NY some bottles were cheaper priced by $10 bucks). I highly recommend this wine store to anyone in the Fairfield region, and I will continue to do my long distance business with this wine store when I drop in to Westchester, highly recommend this store. You won't be disappointed.

A very good wine shop that offers personalized service. They are very knowledgable about the wines they carry. Besides wine, they carry other spirits as well, but are mostly known for the Scotch that they stock. I can't say enough good things about the service they provide - they really are passionate about their shop and their customers satisfaction.

This is the worst liquor store in New Canaan. I recently purchased a 24 case of Corona light and they charged me $43.00 compared to a normal price of around $26. They were extremely rude when I asked about the surprisingly high price and I will never return. Total ripoff. Other liquor stores such as New Canaan Wine Merchants or Red Grape are much better choices.

These people have insulted a friend one too many times. They think it is funny to kid around with an older single woman about drinking alone on a dateless night and make lewd remarks. I do 't care how long you've been "a fixture in New Canaan on Elm St," that is inexcusable.

Franco's Wine Merchants is a family owned business opening over eighty years ago as one of the first businesses to open on Elm Street in New Canaan. They sell some of the worlds finest wine collections at reasonable prices. Ask them to create a Christmas basket of the ten or twenty best wines in the ten to twenty dollar range and they will happily oblige surprising you with one of the best custom made wine gifts you have ever given. Watch your friends smile as they delight in one of Franco's homemade gift baskets overflowing with wine from every country and variety. Franco's created at least ten absolutely awesome wine baskets including the finest champagne at reasonable prices for me to give as Christmas gifts.They ship their wine for free unless you live in a state or country that prohibits such wine sales. Franco's is an amazing store I recommend it highly. Five stars they're the best much better than the rest :)
