Front desk lady was very friendly and kind but that's the only good thing. The cars are terrible and break down. Will never rent from Avis again. Do yourself a favor and go to Enterprise

Extremely rude and discourteous front desk on 12/21 at 9:30 am. My drivers license which I have used with Avis for the past two years and is called till 2031 somehow did not pass their machine test. The person at the front desk was extremely rude and discourteous and did not try to resolve the issue. Just asked that I do another booking. Be wary of arriving on location and expecting any service.Follow -up I went to the airport location (attached photo of rental) and there were no problems.I suspect the person at the front desk on Leibert rd location was being malicious and should be reprimanded.

I probably rent 15-20 times from Avis annually. And I've used this location several times, and it's consistently a terrible experience. The woman working the desk was kind, and helpful. However like most times, it's just her working. So she has to process each person's rental, retrieve their car, clean it, then pull it out. So my latest rental with 3 persons in front of me took 1 hours to pickup my car.I don't get why this whole process isn't automated like every other location. And then you have to return within hours, and return to the person which means more waiting in line pointlessly.

Arrived early at 5:00 PM for a 5:30 PM reservation, only received assistance at 5:50 PM from the sole multitasking staff member. She complaint about my corporate discount code.I quickly Called the 800 number and was told my code was good, but everything abruptly closed down at 6:00 PM I could not pick up my rental. Ironically, the next day I discovered my code worked perfectly elsewhere across the USA without any issues.The staff was like a terminator: she fought with 3 out of 5 customers before me. She overcharged one of them and blacklisted another. While waiting, I wondered if she would find something to argue with me about, and indeed she did. She also mentioned that her boss is a terrible person doesn’t like to honor discounts, which she used as justification for her actions. My perception is that she may have exhibited sociopathic tendencies because she had to work on everything by herself and seemed to try to hurt others or seek revenge from people because she hates her job.The owner responding to reviews, your fake apology is not accepted. Holiday season one person doing everything for you what are you thinking

Very bad agency, avoid it. I rented a car, the car had an engine problem. I didn't get a second car because they didn't have one in Boston, so they sent me to Connecticut and gave me a reservation, and to my surprise I didn't get a car there either. Part of the money was returned to me, but I was cheated for $195. After all, they still took money from my account and if the car was no longer with me, I called 30 times to get my money back again. Big circus with the agency! AVOID!!

I found out this branch usually service uber drivers who rent for work. The disgraceful attitude of this place towards Uber drivers, deeming it acceptable to mistreat them solely based on their profession, reveals a despicable lack of empathy and respect for those striving hard to make ends meet.implying that regardless of who you are, you’re bound to receive your share of disrespect as they’ve made it a habit. Young girl at desk extremely rude.Dear Avis:Consider sending undercover customers to witness the terrible treatment at your location firsthand. The rude behavior towards customers needs immediate attention.

Lisa from the front desk was very rude and unwillingly to assist with reservation issues. Reservation was made through Jet Blue website and even after confirming the pick up time after 4:45 that was not correct in the system. Rather, it said 2:45 which was not helpful at all. The reservation was then cancelled and I had to get another car which was at a higher price. I have rented cars before and had wonderful experiences until today. I highly recommend that when you speak to a rep over the phone that u be specific with time and clarify the prices because apparently they can be changed. I can’t stop expressing the poor customer service. You do not know what people are going through and how a small gesture can make a difference. I need the car to drive up to NY for a funeral and would’ve appreciated a little guidance with other options.

I've been using Avis since 2006, I'm a preferred member, so why do you need to do a "soft credit" check on my card? This location is slow and has several inexperienced workers working there. There is not key drop box for after hours and good luck getting an uber, why is there no shuttle?

One employee to deal with a long line of customers. Group in front us had to wait for their vehicle to be cleaned even though they pre-booked, another group got the wrong vehicle. Still waiting in line an hour later. It meant we missed our reservation and screwed up our plans. I have rented cars many times and this is easily the worst experience I’ve had. I’m still waiting in line so I will update later on.Update - They did not have our vehicle because they gave it to the group in front us, they offered us a vehicle that did not have enough seating for our group, so they had us use one of their cars to drive 9 miles in peak traffic to another AVIS lot to pick up a suitable vehicle instead of delivering it to us. I’m waiting in another line as I write this.Update - 2.5 hours later from start to finish and 9 miles further from our destination with zero apologies from the employees or manager, we are finally on the road. Severely disappointed.

The most unprofessional rental place I ever had to encounter with. The manager Lisa is very disrespectful. She is a compulsive liar. I rent through Uber. Every week I tell her to extend. She does it when she feel like it. To the point that the came a repo my rental all because the lack of communication. It’s unbelievable. So I recommend don’t ever go here to rent.

Hello and good morning to all , my experience at Avis was a great experience, from the point of setting up my booking to picking up the rental and dropping it off, the staff was courteous and professional, as a customer you have to realize that you have to be patient and be respectful, customer service employees at Avis have a lot on there plate, just cause it’s only cars there’s a lot involved and sometimes vehicles are not returned in a timely fashion, plus once a car arrives it has to be inspected and cleaned for the next customer, so please have patience. And enjoy the ride experience, from Avis. Thank you for your service, looking forward for my next pick up.

My fiance and I had reservation set for 4 days to come get a car through the Uber program. Not a single car available ,no call or anything , we needed this car today like the reservation confirmed , the numbers the support gives just goes back to their useless "customer service" agents who can do nothing but say check another day. You guys have cost me my job by not providing the car that I was SUPPOSED to be provided today and soon to follow my home. Thank you so much for your horribly managed business , close this company down. Don't ever rent from here or listen to the lies they spew. As an owner you should be ashamed , I will not contact your "support" since they aren't capable of following through with any sort of help.

My experience with this company/this location was truly disappointing. I had a prepaid reservation for a car for 6/17 at 12pm. I reached the counter around 3pm to pick up my car and they said that they had the car but won't be able give me for the reserved price as the time has passed! They wanted me to get the same car at $140 extra that my prepaid price! Calling customer care was a waste of time as they said that it was up to the location! I needed this for a trip to JFK and finally had to scramble to find another commute! Whenever this location is fully booked, they cheat the people who reserved at lower prices! How unethical, unscrupulous and immoral a practice! Never go with this company/location, get your car from Enterprise or other good companies.

I have NEVER had this many issues with a Rental Facility!There was ONLY one associate working the counter, there were a lot of individuals waiting to rent a vehicle, some EVEN walked out … I had pre-registered for a vehicle, which is another issue of a vehicle being rented out that had NO BUSINESS being on the road!SO DISAPPOINTED in AVIS … There should definitely be a refund given!I would like to speak to a Manager
